hmm i say that then hear Toon have rejected an offer from Liverpool for 30m!ohjimmyjimmy wrote:I suspect its not that complicated for the Sturrdige deal though. Carroll isnt in the picture, Adam is a midfielder and won't break the bank despite what Holloway says. Young?
I still dont think it would stop them selling Torres, they're just trying their luck to see what 30 - 40m can get them in the English market.
Suspect they'll sell, rely on Suarez for the rest of the season (knowing they aren't going to win anything this season anyway) then use the money to buy abroad int he summer.

They try last-minute shopping with £40million or so Torres fee in their pockets, and they'll get fleeced.

what Coyle says to Sky....
"Well I think at this time there are always a host of names bandied about," Coyle told Sky Sports News.
"What I would say Daniel Sturridge is, as we all know, a fantastically talented player.
"A player who I believe is one of the best, if not the best, young strikers in the country and a player who I believe with the platform of the Premier League will get better.
"You are always looking to bring in players into the football club that can help.
"We certainly would love to add another player to the squad we have and we are doing our utmost to bring that to fruition.
"It won't be through lack of effort or want of trying but there are still a few boxes to be ticked before that can happen."

I suspect if Sturridge is the only "news" in the next few hours, then "semi" is the best it's going to get...CrazyHorse wrote:Let's wait for the pitch, shirt, grin before getting a semi-on.

I always say this to my wife...except replace 'I suspect if Sturridge is the only "news" in the next few hours' with 'after 10 pints of bitter...'Worthy4England wrote:I suspect if Sturridge is the only "news" in the next few hours, then "semi" is the best it's going to get...CrazyHorse wrote:Let's wait for the pitch, shirt, grin before getting a semi-on.

Bolton are close to agreeing a deal to sign Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge on loan, BBC Sport understands.
Sturridge, 21, has been handed just four starts this season, with 17 substitute appearances, and has scored four goals.
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti insisted he would use more of his younger players at the start of the season.
But Sturridge was also offered to Liverpool as part of a deal to sign Reds striker Fernando Torres.
Liverpool want £50m for the Spanish forward and rejected Chelsea's first offer of £35m.
They also turned down Chelsea's offer of cash plus Sturridge to try and sanction a deal but that was also rejected by Liverpool.
The Reds are said to be open-minded on an arrangement that would include former Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka moving back to Anfield.
Since moving from Manchester City in 2009, Sturridge has struggled to make his mark in a Chelsea side that includes forwards Anelka, Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda and Solomon Kalou.
He has scored nine goals in the two seasons he has been at the west London club. He also has 10 caps for the England under-21 team.

1.20pm: On Sky Sports News, Charlotte Jackson has just made the world a better place by introducing footage of Bolton manager Owen Coyle being very non-commital about Daniel Sturridge's move from Chelsea. He goes on to say that Bolton won't be selling anyone today.

Re: January transfer window...
Bit of a funny one but somebody has tweeted that Citeh are going to take Seb Larsson on loan for the rest of the season. Could be bobbins but if not, it may pave the way for an SWP loan?
