Surprised if they're looking to get rid of Maxi Rodriguez after he ended the season with a ton of goals.

That Maxi (and other previous underachievers) played so eye-catchingly toward the end of the season is to Dalglish and Clarke's credit, but the debit is £100,000 a week for a player expected to be a benchwarmer once they've got Henderson alongside Gerrard etc.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Surprised if they're looking to get rid of Maxi Rodriguez after he ended the season with a ton of goals.
I honestly couldn't tell you who Milan Jovanovic is, and he earns about £6m a year. Mind you, so do some bankers, and Jovanovic isn't (directly) f*cking my bank account, just LFC's.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
With regards the Rodrigo transfer, why did City stump up £500k for that German fella about 17 seconds after we'd just signed him on a free? Why didn't they just sign him on a free in the first place? Or Newcastle parted with £8m for a player who Rangers themselves had obtained on a free recently?
The world of football transfers is bizarre, loads of clubs make silly losses on players they never really thought about.
I would also suggest that they have not made the full payment, it will be spread over a period of time, and Im guessing there'll be some appearance based clauses in there. All we'll be doing is picking up the remainder, and perhaps because we paid something for him last season (or his wages) thats where the missing £1m lies.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Hamman joined us then the following day Campo signed an extention. Hamman realised he wasn't going to get a regular game & so decided on the KFC accent bullshit to get himself out of here.Lord Kangana wrote:With regards the Rodrigo transfer, why did City stump up £500k for that German fella about 17 seconds after we'd just signed him on a free? Best bit of business ever.
On the other stuff, the monied clubs consider 'scouting' to be a function of watching established players and good/middling clubs and then paying over the odds. Liverpool are at it now too. Not susptainable, but it feeds the medium sized clubs & should long-term encourage young players to come to the likes of us rather than bigger clubs who will never play them.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Would be disappointed if we've not, at least, enquired after that Demba Ba on a free from Wham!
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Even if you did a straight comparison with Jerome and the resident forward line (Davies, Klasnic and Blake) he's only outscored Blake who's a peripheral player at best. So no I don't think he would improve the forward line, not in the slightestPrufrock wrote:Tom is right, Cameron would 'improve our forward line' and folk are rightly aghast at that idea. It isn't saying much. Gonna have to aim a bit higher. £4m on an unproven, lightweight, up to now almost entirely end product-less kid is utter, utter madness. If we had 40million to spend maybe, but chhhhrrrrist.
And I certainly wouldn't say I was putting all my faith in Rodrigo either, but he's better than the Jerome option at £4m dearer

Yes, but he's reportedly turned down £50,000 a week and a half million sign on fee to stay with WH. Still if Everton are in for him...Lofthouse Lower wrote:Would be disappointed if we've not, at least, enquired after that Demba Ba on a free from Wham!

He couldn't oust Sturridge because he was banging them in for fun and Coyle's highly unlikely to drop Davies who has provided the most assists this season. He wasn't likely to drop Elmander who did a job for us in midfieldBWFC_Insane wrote:Let me get this straight, we are planning to spend 4m on a player to replace 2 we lost last year. The player in question could not oust either of the ones he is 'replacing' out of the side last year. That's a sign of progress if ever I saw one.....oh hang on........

Today's BN says the club have laughed off the Petrov rumours. Also that SWP is prepared to come to Bolton, but that Arsenal and Liverpool look to be leading the race to sign Cahill for £17 mil.

Well that's interesting because this week I've reportedly had a threesome with Lorraine Kelly and Martha Wainwright.clapton is god wrote:Yes, but he's reportedly turned down £50,000 a week and a half million sign on fee to stay with WH. Let's hope so, cos Petrov is class. However I fear Phillips would be a flop.

If he comes and he's on wages in line with the others in our first XI then i'd welcome him...when all's said and done it's a bit of a sad day when we turn our nose up at possibly signing a player who's been capped 30-odd times by England (as long as its on our terms of course).

Plenty of players have tons of caps who wouldn't be welcome here.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:If he comes and he's on wages in line with the others in our first XI then i'd welcome him...when all's said and done it's a bit of a sad day when we turn our nose up at possibly signing a player who's been capped 30-odd times by England (as long as its on our terms of course).
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
I also think SWP will be a flop if he came here. Too many other areas to deal with and I fear his wage bill might make it impossible to address some of those areas of need.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
Would Peter Crouch be one of those?ohjimmyjimmy wrote:If he comes and he's on wages in line with the others in our first XI then i'd welcome him...when all's said and done it's a bit of a sad day when we turn our nose up at possibly signing a player who's been capped 30-odd times by England (as long as its on our terms of course).

Not welcome by you maybe !
I remember Barry Cowdrill at left back, and Paul Comstive in midfield! If we're in the market for experienced internationals, as well as emergin talent, fcking bring it on i say.
