Which muppet can we appoint next?

Ryan Giggs isn't a slightly aggressive sexagenarian from Sheffield, so for that reason I'm out.

I mean, would they respond to a manager who doesn' t start the team talk with the incomparable "they've come here supping us ale"? Really?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

There is also the contacts he has in the game to bring in loan players that would probably would not give Bolton a second look. He could also attract players which would not drop down to league one for anyone else.

Yes it is a risk but so is any manager who is to say any of the other managers would bring success.

Yes he is a dirty red but so were Gowling, Kidd, etc. and they were a success in a white shirt. I would sooner see a young manager with a young team going for it than a old manager with run of the mill players giving us the same old crap!
How many good ex players end up being shite managers? There is a long list.

Could we try something novel and appoint someone who has some sort of proven ability to manage rather than hoping the latest 'in thing' will solve all our problems?

I'd only be happy with giggs if he renewed his playing licence.

:D "There you go, Madine. It's on a fecking plate for you".

Can I just chuck this 'out there'. Russell Slade has been released today from his role as Head of Football at Cardiff. Now, things haven't gone all together well for him at (whatever they replaced Ninian Park with), but he did have to pick up the dog's dinner that Solskjaer had left. He did a quite splendid job at Leyton Orient. Thoughts?

I admired his work at Orient but Cardiff fans I know utterly detested him: puzzling, defensive selections, very bad feeling around the club.

It's intriguing to say the least to have the prospect of Giggs as manager. I'm fearful that it's too much of an experiment and when it could go wrong we could end up up playing League 2 football
Pfffft.

1/3 and 1/4 in places now...They might be preparing to put the car park, half an office and a second training facility on Adkins at the last minute. Build up a transfer pot, maybe.

Giggs, bloody Ryan Giggs. We need a manager who has been around not one who is a learner. If so it's a piss poor appointment.

Well the last bloke was allegedly picking up all sorts of rough ladies from Fannys. I can't see a proper professional like Giggs doing that kind of thing

I'm getting John Prescott McGovern all over again. A truly lovely bloke (who I was fortunate enough to get to know), prodigal son of a genial manager, a superb player, highly decorated, but it ends there. Well, JM's Mrs was absolutely this 16 year-old wet boy's dream, so I doubt he was shagging her sister, if she has one.

We should not forget that Giggs and his pals actually have something we are short of, cash.

If this is a way to get them interested in the club by working from the inside, I'm all for it I reckon most of the others mentioned are yes men!

^^ Aye and that one minute past 8 on a Monday, is only one minute later than close of play Friday, even if you slogged through the intervening 48 hours. :-)

Ok, now you've got my attention.

Theres no way you can leave a story like this just there. There'll be kids on here who have no conception of a world where footballers counted ordinary people amongst their friends and acquaintances. Not for me you understand, for them.
