Just seen that Iles suggests there might not be an announcement today because it "Relies on someone getting through customs and picking up their baggage."

Not sure whether that is the owners or new manager presumably who are/is on holiday. Or we're after a manager from abroad? Thankfully Coyle is already signed up elsewhere!

Took Colchester up from league one didn't he?
Ah yes - apologies.

The BN site is carefully saying not much except Not Giggs; even Uwe Rosler is rolled out alongside Parkinson as a possibility.

Nine minutes ago, Iles tweeted "Response to Parky rumours from Bradford end has been sceptical. Spoke last wk about his plans for #bcfc. No official word from #bwfc either." Also, on the assistant, Iles tweeted: "Think #bwfc keen to avoid the Di Matteo/Clarke situation at Villa where Clarke was announced but no contract had been signed."

Again, is there any need? He's a wind up on twitter, that is for sure.

Interesting that it could be Phil Parkinson. The question is would he want to come to Bolton, maybe for a fresh challenge. However, if you look at Bradford's attendances the season just gone they averaged more than we did and they were in a league lower than us. I can't see us getting anywhere near their crowds now we are in League One. Then again, does this form part of a prospective managers thoughts

I know him personally, and the guy is very passionate about local sport. I've never once read anything he's written and though 'Oh, Bonnar's on the wind here'. Obviously he doesn't fall into the group of journalists upon whose every word you hang.

Bonnar is a very professional journalist and genuine about his passions. He's also "professional" on Twitter in that he wants people to buy the paper. I can't blame him for that, but that's basically what BWFCi was saying: not that he's an evil journalist, but that he uses Twitter partly to drive sales.

See also Iles using the #mufc hashtag in order to reach more eyeballs. See also how the headlines on BN website stories often change shortly after going live, suddenly adding in Google-friendly terms like the full team names of any side related to the manager search (eg "Manchester United legend Giggs tipped for Bolton job") instead of the more casual, assumed-knowledge headlines in the newspaper (eg "Giggs tipped for Macron").

As I've said before, can't blame the boys for trying their best to keep the publication afloat.

BREAKING Bradford deny Parkinson story
(per Bradford Telegraph & Argus)
Chief operating officer James Mason said: “Bradford City can confirm there’s been no contact with the club from Bolton Wanderers about Phil.

“I’ve just spoken to Phil Parkinson who is on a well-earned break on holiday with his family and who is busy already preparing for next season with Bradford City.

“We don’t know where the rumours came from but can only suggest it’s that time of year when the names of successful managers crop up for vacancies.”

Shame. Iles says he was the "secret interviewee" from last week. So guess things changed since then.

I think its going to be McDermott. No inside info, just a gut feeling. I will be very uninspired by that appointment.

Still got my fingers crossed for Cotterill or Evans.

My preferred choices in order of preference.

1. Cotterill
2. Evans
3. Adkins
4. Someone else
5. McDermott

This is assuming Parky is not happening.

Despite the quotes above stating to the contrary?

Either
a) Iles is betraying a massive confidence which could land Parkinson in trouble
b) Bradford City are lying
c) Iles is making it up
d)He wasn't interviewed and nothing's changed

He may not have been interviewed. Perhaps he was scheduled, but like I say, perhaps Bradford who were rumoured to be sacking him changed their mind and therefore no interview took place.

Iles not expecting an announcement today......

I'm paraphrasing with the quotes but the timescales are theirs not mine....

April press conference - Ken Anderson
"Manager should be sorted by end of next week"

May Programme Notes
"A manager and board are already set and working towards planning for next season"

Last week - Lee Anderson
"Everything should be completed by the end of the week........"

Their sense of timescales seem loose in the extreme.
