Nixon reports that Stockport want Forrester. If the price is right (though I can’t quite decide on what that is in the heat) then I’d let him go. Far too injury prone.

As for Thomason and Huddersfield, I’d much rather we kept him. £1m+ may change my mind though.

Should clarify that I didn’t see us challenging for the top 2 in May and still don’t now. I suspect we are fighting for 6th-4th at best.
Is there anything that could change your mind bwfci before the season kicks off?
Probably not - always we have to hope but there are some strong sides again in this league and we are going to be a work in progress.
Thanks bwfci. There are strong sides in the league, Huddersfield, Wycombe, Luton and Stockport are the 4 I’d imagine will be up there with us. But the bookies have us 5th favourite for outright winner and they’re rarely wrong. I am, however, in the Bertie(see his recent post) camp atm and still hoping for a couple of signings that shift the needle.
I don’t think individual signings shift needles at least not with our budget. If we are to do anything this season it will be about collective endeavour and working hard as a unit and having a spirit that keeps the group going. You need players within that but for me most of the ‘individual’ stuff is over done. Wrexham went up with good players but main thing was they had tremendous work ethic and spirit.
And about 4 strikers all better than anything we had.
Point of order - their top scorer got 8. They had nobody in double figures (bar Smith but 11 of his tally were at Reading before the move) and they scored the exact same number of goals last season as we did.

So not sure the difference can be said to be ‘4 strikers’ it clearly isn’t the difference.

Now we're being linked with Palace's Danny Imray who's a player I saw a lot of last season (on loan at L2 Bromley). A RWB with pace who had the ability to change a game. In the January window, Wycombe reportedly had a £1m bid for him turned down.

He's a bit on the small side and I find it difficult to see him ever turning out for Palace in the Prem. But, L1 might be his level.

Cheers. Interesting. Confusing. Surely we can’t be keeping all these wingers.

Or was he more fullback than winger?

Definitely a flying winger!

This is from the Palace website:

"In July 2024, Imray moved on loan to League Two side Bromley. He played in 42 games across all competitions for the Ravens, predominantly as a winger rather than a wing-back, scoring twice and registering five assists.

"His performances saw him earn Bromley's Young Player of the Season award."
