Blake gets a lot of stick for not being involved but this shows a terrible disregard for the hours of training and work he puts in to keep his weight down so he can still fit in the Lofty the Lion outfit.Bruce Rioja wrote:Yes, Davies should feck off. Robbie Blake deserves an opportunity!

The Mirror (Yes Nixon) believe Sunderland ready to make £1.5m bid for SKD.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

"Davies originally wanted a two-year extension to his stay at the Reebok Stadium, but was offered a one-year deal that Bolton have subsequently withdrawn, and Davies – who has found his first-team place no longer guaranteed – seems certain to leave."
Not heard this before. Bit odd a Sunderland newspaper has to tell us this? Moremedia speculation?

Re: Kevin Davies
£1.5m, 6 months before his contract is up, for a player aged 34, who's lost his place and most observers feel is a weight around us now ? For someone who has been the reason we have HAD to play a one dimensional way for 8 years ? £1.5m ?malcd1 wrote:The Mirror (Yes Nixon) believe Sunderland ready to make £1.5m bid for SKD.

Blimey. Thanks for the memories & all that, but ....
Even the "but not to a competitor" stuff ... if we do feel he's now no longer capable ... doesn't alter that view. If those views are right he'll drag them down. If not, then 80% of us here are wrong & we'll eat our words.
Won't miss his gob-shite wife though, though I assume we'll have to prepare for days of her whining on twatter.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Kevin Davies
If that price is true, we'd have to sell. I imagine he's on big wages too.

I REALLY don't want him to leave. £1.5M or not. Especially not to a Premier League rival. I'm over-loyal and over-'romantic' in these matters, I know, but I'd much prefer to see him retire gracefully here and slide seamlessly into a coaching role. He's a proper do-or-die Wanderer.

Re: Kevin Davies
Yeah, buisness wise it's makes perfect sense to sell.
However, there's no way I want to see Kev play for any other team in the Premiership, let alone Sunderland.
Give him a coaching role or something. Maybe there's a job in the canteen that he could do.

Guys the club is run as a business these days.. I don't think the romantics are the majority among the decision makers. If 1.5m offer and the 18 mths contract that he wants are true, then let's grace ourselves to see him in red/white stripes soon.

Re: Kevin Davies.
I'd like him to be replaced by a better player, not just robbie blake!

Re: Kevin Davies
Much as I wouldn't like to see KD at a rival club, from the BWFC stand point it has to be good business. KD is no longer the first choice up front, his contract is up in 6 months and IF we get 1.5 million and probably one of the largest wage earners off the books it has to make sense. I'm not sure that he would want to take a behind the scenes role when he is still capable of playing, as they say "You are a long time retired so make the most of it".
Whatever happens he has been, and still is, a true Wanderer, and we owe him a massive thanks for this efforts. Yes I know he is well paid for these efforts but nevertheless he has been the heart of Bolton Wanderers over the last 8 or so years.

I suspect KD would rather still be playing for as long as he has the opportunity than coaching or serving tea and muffins....
what makes you think he'd be any good as a coach anyway?

But his muffins are truly scrumptious, or are those his wife's?thebish wrote:hi there, i'm chris wrote:Yeah, buisness wise it's makes perfect sense to sell.
