Indeed, but it doesn't help me know where we'll play next season.bobo the clown wrote:Well of course ... that's self evident.Salford Trotter wrote:relegation is axiomatic

Re: JUST FCUK OFF
I've been against sacking Coyle (and still am) but only for the reason that the next dickhead we get will be just as bad and possibly worse.
A paper plate with a face drawn on it could do the job Coyle's doing.
I've just read through clenched eyes his summary of last nights debacle and it could have come from any game this season.
Blah blah blah flipping blah.
Boyata's miss summed up the whole season.
Not good enough. if we think Stoke are going to beat QPR for us we've got no hope for the future. My only wish now is that aliens or Al Qaeda take over and ban football for ever.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Didn't know where to put this, so rather than start a new thread I'll stick it in here.....
Watching West Ham last night, for me shows exactly where our failure lies. They were solid, extremely well organised, professional, full of athletes and players who had strength and they were never going to lose that game. Enough going forwards to cause trouble but solid right through the side and they defended from the front as a unit.
We've never played or looked like that with Coyle as manager. He's taken the organisation and drilling and solidity right out. We've lost the mantra of strong athletic players. And we're now reliant upon 1 or two players being brilliant in a game rather than a determined and organised team effort.
Sure West Ham weren't exactly pretty. But they stifled Cardiff, strangled the life out of them in a way that I honestly can't remember us doing for a long long time, and essentially a way that probably against the likes of Spurs and Fulham etc would have given us far more chance. And a much greater chance of staying up this season.

In which case - the answer is what you've been saying all along - lets get relegated and play championship teams!

Re: JUST FCUK OFF
Totally agree - We don't look or play as a team but as a team of individual 'headless chickens', we really do play like a team who are simply told 'just go out & play'. They are possibly the most badly coached, disorganised, unfit squad of players around, which may explain that we only ever play at a high tempo for 15 mins out of the whole 90, the Spurs game typified the season for me - 1st 30 mins our passing & moving was shambolic, I lost count of the times passes went astray and players just looked puzzled, we then had our usual 15 mins when we scored, upped the tempo and went for the 2nd - but then ran out of steam and folded like a back of cards with players just strolling back leaving players totally un marked, but playing 4-4-2 against Spurs with M Davies as one of the central two was just criminal & asking for trouble, but not a surprise under tactically clueless CoyleBWFC_Insane wrote: We've never played or looked like that with Coyle as manager. The players all look absolutely knackered after 45 mins, no one seems to have a specific role to play and we never look like we have a specific shape or style of play, saying all that it may also be because we just arn't good enough in terms of quality and have too many championship standard players out of their depth - who may actually be playing out of their skins but simply arn't good enough at this level.
Regardless of whether we stay up or go down Coyle will stay (unless he gets approached for the WBA job !), but regardless IMO the chairman needs to insist on a complete new backroom staff, we need a knowledgable proven assistant who has played at a decent level and who can help Coyle out both tactically and with organising the team, and we need to bring in some new fitness coaches who can get the players fit enough to play 90 mins instead of 15.

You are confusing the quality of a teams players with the teams organisation and style.thebish wrote:hmmmm... You can have poor quality players but still be well organised.
There are certains ways to play with "lesser" players that will still allow you to obtain results!

Agreed, we used to do that no doubt if West Ham come up BSA will be banging the bossBWFC_Insane wrote:You are confusing the quality of a teams players with the teams organisation and style.thebish wrote:hmmmm... I think it is a lot more complicated than you suggest.
It is easy to appear organised when your opposition gives you the time and the space to do that. I reckon that's much easier appear organised Cardiff than it is against Spurs, so a comparison is a little unfair...
If you talk to west ham fans (as I often do, living in west ham heartland) - they describe their team as a shambles...

Not really. The first goal Spurs scored was down to superior quality. There was nothing we could do about it.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote: You are confusing the quality of a teams players with the teams organisation and style.

Their second and third goals, were down to very poor team defending. You could take it further and suggest it was down to the approach we were taking to the game at that point.
But at a basic level we have never looked organised this season. We didn't last season either, but having better players in Elmander, Sturridge, Holden, LCY, Cahill covered up deficiencies in that area. But it was still apparent that we lacked organisation and defensive structure. Its not a hindsight thing either, I said at the time that the quality of those players covered up some of our failings.
Those failings are nothing to do with how good or bad your players are. If a player makes a mistake then there is little you can do about that. When as a team players of high quality are consistently left one on one with a full back or centre half, as happened against Spurs then its down to the way you are set up and organised. Yes good players expose the lack of that more.
BUT we could play any team in the championship and STILL not be able to play in such a disciplined and organised way as West Ham did last night. With our current coaching staff, based upon the evidence seen thus far.
Re: JUST FCUK OFF
This is the team that conceded three at home to Birmingham the other week and four against Reading.
I take the point that we're a complete shambles and have been all season, but I'm not sure why you'd illustrate that by comparing us to West Ham as opposed to say Norwich City.
