But I predicted that he'd bench Mason on his final home game for us, because it's such a Dougie thing to do. Both scorers from the Donny game benched, and Mason didn't even get the chance to have a final home send-off. I was disappointed with that.

........... But now I just think he's bonkers.
Yup.

Wants to appear really tactically aware and clever so does predictably unpredictable things.

It's because he's a cock.
hmmmm... if you really think that - go for it!

others on here recently suggested that when we were safe from relegation we should try out some of the players who are likely to be here next season and start building for that... seems to me dougie did that... people on here wanted Moritz to start... people have always wanted Hall (you wanted wingers IIRC)... people have long clamoured for Knight to be sent to Siberia on the next plane - and he was dropped to the bench... and - we won and secured the 3pts whilst doing so.

if we're not getting mason back - and we are safe from relegation - and there isn't a financial penalty for finishing slightly lower in the league... then why play Mason?
This argument would have more weight if yesterday was a one-off. It isn't, he changes things all the time. We battered Leeds 5-1, and then he made 9 changes in the next two games. We scored 3 away goals at Leicester in December and all the goal scorers were dropped for the following game, with one of them not starting again for almost 2 months.

I agree with Bobo. If yesterday really was an experiment with players in a dead game, why not go further and play some youngsters? The only experiment going on is with Dougie's mind.

No wonder he's had some time off though. His back was probably killing him for carrying Tim. Did it again yesterday too.

Baptiste got tortured. But he got feck all help from Tim and Robert
Tim Ream player of the season you mean......
Incredible isn't it.

I think people are confusing 'most improved' with 'best'

I take a much more cynical view - I think some folks saying "he could be brilliant" before the season, need to now support that contention with "what a great season he had" - I'm great at Champ Manager, me.

my answer would be none, worthy's seems to be huge - half of our rezzies....
gave my summary further back...

again though, this is pointless as its about personal opinion. from what you have put, am I right to think that you think all our players are shit hot?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

no - and I don't see what would lead you to that conclusion!

(unless writing that we didn't play our reserves against Barnsley is some kind of new yoof speak for "all our players are shit hot" :conf: )

quite simple Jaffers..

you wrote: "from what you have put, am I right to think that you think all our players are shit hot?"

I have absolutely no idea how that follows from anything I have ever written.

or, to put it another way (as you appear not to have understood that one) - I really have no idea what on earth you are bleating about...

Just to be clear which is the latest manager-beating stick: he should be playing Mason just so we can wave a tearful farewell to him after an emotional two-month loan?

Only, back when we re-signed young Joseph, the gaffer was getting pelters for "developing" "other" "team's" "kids"...

Indeed, but three months relative consistency over the span of the eight or nine months of the season, isn't something many players have achieved, even if you add them all up from August. :-)

So I think I got to Danns (fairly consistent - couple of anonymous performances), but largely ok. Then I got stuck.

Looking at the Official Website - we don't have a whole lot of players that have played in more than 50% of our matches (we have 11 with > 20 appearances in the league) - out of that bunch - I'd struggle to pick a top 3.

So 3 months relatively good performances probably gets you in...as depressing as that may seem.

Ha point taken, depressing as it is. Still not close to Danns or Mills for me. Spearing and Boggers fighting for the least shit of the rest but pipped by Duke because at least his three good months is 100% of the time he has been here!

I think it's one of those "beat him with either end of the same stick" scenarios...

It's either a case of that or Dougie's 'I'll play him as a lone striker today even he hasn't scored for 7 games, and drop Beckford and Moritz, who scored all 3 goals in the previous game at Leicester; but I'll drop him completely for his final home game for us even though he just scored 2 away goals.'

Both might be baffling but I think Dougie's reasoning baffles me the most.

To be honest I'm past the beating stage. Not all Dougie's fault, but the apathy I'm feeling towards the team/matches/football is huge. I think the Premiership has killed it for me, and Dougie and half the players are just nailing the coffin :(

If the premiership killed it for you then you can only be delighted in the performances so far, considering we're not anywhere near going back up?
