If that is true I hope that 'site' haven't damaged the chances of a takeover going through.

Breaking News: Bolton Wanderers Takeover Imminent?

The seemingly never-ending Bolton Wanderers takeover saga could be 48 hours from completion, according to our source who informed us about this.

Our source tells us that the Sports Shield consortium are in talks to complete the Share Purchase Agreement - a definitive agreement that finalises all terms and conditions related to the purchase and sale of the shares of a company.

They expect to complete a deal for the club over the weekend.

However, our source tells us that their proposed bid is being challenged by a rival bid from Dennis Rogers and Jonathan Disley, who they claim do not have the club's best interests at heart.

Our source told us:

"We have got the SPA in and hope to conclude over the weekend. However, Jon Disley and Dennis Rodgers are on the way to the club to gazump us.

"I can assure you this is far from the best interests of the club, and they don't have any hard cash behind them except what is being leveraged."

We will bring you updates on this story as soon as we receive them.
This may or may not be why Marc Iles tweeted this, 13 minutes later:
Somebody has just done somebody else no favours at all...

Gazump!

Yeah alright

Love the quotemarks, BWFCi. Like it or hate it, trust it or distrust it, it's definitely a site :D

Well, seems to me the source (you can put that in quotes if you like) says Disley's rival bid is already en route anyway, so I'm not quite sure what cover is blown. Unless Disley's lot weren't aware than Monday's court date is a little over 48 hours away, which might imply they should buy a desk calendar.

And it also seems to me that due diligence is not just about the buyer assessing the club, but the club assessing the buyer. If Disley & Co are as bad as is made out (I honestly don't know either way) then BWFC/Birch/Eddie will be doing their homework on it.

Nervy investors sometimes get scared when stuff leaks. Who knows how precarious the consortium is.

I hope it is ok still.

As an aside I'm not a big fan of LoV.

Iles debunking the 48hrs theory:

"Straight from horses' mouths: Three parties still in play. But close. No takeover expected in 48 hours, even from the most optimistic of 3."

Nixon says car park sale close and that he doesn't believe a takeover is close. Reckons we'd not be selling car park land if it was.

This is about the 5th time Iles has said a takeover is close. It can't be that close if 3 separate parties still in discussion......

I think the prospective parties are feeding him lines, sometimes for their own devices. He's always said on Twitter that he wouldn't get excited and be cautious even when he was writing people were saying things were close.

He's reporting what he's been told but it's all bullshit. He's clearly a decent guy doing his best but is being made to look like a mug by the complete c*nts who run the club.

Y'see, I'd buy that about Iles. But Nixon is just a chance.

The charm of him playing Mystic Meg and giving 10% hints of things to come which give him enough outs to claim he was correct, or that he never actually said things was lost a long time ago.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

^just to be clear, we are talking about Iles here not Nixon.

In terms of accuracy of the two, Vela is a recent example. Iles wrote he was off to Cardiff. Nixon tweeted that Eddie had blocked the move. Vela didn't move in the end. Lennon claims a bid was accepted by the club and then the club changed course. Other Bolton sources within the club claimed nothing was accepted. Cardiff say there was never a bid. This stuff isn't always as clear cut as people think and Iles may have been wrong but his source was Neil Lennon himself.

F*cking Nixon.

Again.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
