In that case I really hope we get wound up by the HMRC on Tuesday.

We are in a mess. We've been poor all season. We're probably going to go down.
But there are 16 games left. It's far from over, largely because there are other piss poor teams out there.
... & losing 3-2 away to an in-form Brighton isn't the reason we're in schtuk.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It wasn't really our result that was the major problem yesterday, it was those around us that probably hurt the most.bobo the clown wrote:We are in a mess. We've been poor all season. We're probably going to go down.

People say a narrow defeat at the Amex isn't the game that will condemn us but it neatly sums us up away from home; we play well and come home with nothing.
We played well at Wednesday and got nothing.
We played well at Ipswich and got nothing.
We played well at QPR and got nothing.
We played well at MK Dons and got nothing.
We played okay at Hull and got nothing.
We played well at Burnley and got nothing.
The only time this depressing pattern really changed was at Charlton and Wolves, and the Molinuex game gave me some hope, but those 2 results are just flaws in the design. If we can't sort out our away form, we're going down.

We clearly need more points home or away but you're not picking up too many points when you have to score three or more away from home just to get one point. I don't see the connection with "played well" and letting two or more goals in. The fact that the end result might have been a loss by one goal doesn't help us much.

Let's not get carried away, there are 15 games left. We can't just add extra games on whenever we need thembobo the clown wrote:We are in a mess. We've been poor all season. We're probably going to go down.

Really poor goals to concede. Why the hell did mark davies get the ball for the third...and when he did why not just smash it out!

You know what I mean. I really do think we have no chance of staying up now. We will rise again from league 1 however. It'll be like the Rioch days all over again. Before that though do we have to drop into league two? The Rioch rise came a fair old time after the fall.LeverEnd wrote:You know what I mean. I really do think we have no chance of staying up now. Just seen the goals. Their third is horrible beyond belief. That is simply gifting a team a goal.
Vela and Mark Davies both absolutely shocking there. Sums up the team. Amos bowls it out and Vela gets mildly closed down. Instead of taking responsibility and either getting down the line or just clearing down the line he takes the cowardly way out and plays it back into midfield.
Now, Davies still has time to deal with it, but turns backwards tries to be clever and is far too soft.
Gifted Brighton a goal which is probably more goals than he's created for Bolton.
Where is the bravery and spirit? Two players, both looking for someone to help them out rather than taking the responsibility themselves. That is genuinely the nub of our problems summed up in one incident.

Vela? Give over. If he aimlessly nice people it down the line he'd rightly get pilloried. That's the decision that's not "brave". Woeful from Mark Davies. Gets away with it one and still pisses about again.
Their first goal is as bad. Two nothing straight balls and Dervite running through concrete.

Re: Albion the away end, will you? Brighton (A) 13/02/16
Holding will be disappointed when he watches the first goal again. Where is he running? Answer: NOT at the danger (IE: the player bearing down on goal about to slot it home).
Why don't any of the lads celebrate Heskey's goal?
For their second I reckon Holding should come across sooner as it is obvious that lad was skinning Spearing all the way.
For their third, after giving Davies the ball Vela doesn't make himself an option to receive it again. Dervite does (a bit) but by then our sun-bed hair-dye centre mid show pony is in All Sorts of Problems and is promptly dispossessed.
Game Management. At 2-2 away from home at an in-form team, why isn't Amos belting it as far down the pitch as possible after the back four and everyone are in some sort of position. As he rolls it to Vela you can throw a net over SIX of our outfield players (one of whom then comes to receive it from vela). It's just a depressing mess and I can't be arsed going on with it. feck it. We lost, but we made it a feck sight easier for them than we should have!! See you shambolic pricks next time!
Elementary, my dear.

IMO Vela is the most over rated youngster we've had at the club for a good while.Prufrock wrote:Vela? Give over. If he aimlessly tw*ts it down the line he'd rightly get pilloried. That's the decision that's not "brave". Woeful from Mark Davies. Gets away with it one and still pisses about again.

Personally I think that there's a mistake in him in ever game, he just does enough during games (a bit like Pratley), he's not an intelligent player, his head appears to go down very quickly and you never see him coming off the pitch absolutely shattered because he's given it 100% (admittedly though you can say that amount the majority of our players - very few break sweat), he had potential a few years ago, but I think that he has had a good run in the team and been given enough time but I doubt that he will improve much if at all - he'll be ok next year though because League 1 is about Vela's level....and playing at full back actually helps mask how poor he is as a central midfielder.

You don't pass into the centre of midfield in that situation. But rather than take control he wanted to give the ball to a teammate in a more dangerous position than he was in. Had he hacked it down the line there'd be no goal and nobody would be talking about it.Prufrock wrote:Vela? Give over. If he aimlessly tw*ts it down the line he'd rightly get pilloried. It perfectly sums up why we are where we are. Perhaps it is the instruction. Perhaps it is the players. But trying to play football like that when we are shit is just unforgivable.
Should be playing a very basic game, not fannying around like that.
