Ah sorry - tweet of interview. To watch the full interview you’d need a login (which I don’t have either) but you can see the short clip at https://x.com/OfficialBWFC/status/1867963518965911755Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 4:18 pmCould you give us a notion please DSB? Respect to Jack Dearden again. He does ask the right questions.

So Evatt says he doesn't know why this failure in big matches and local derbies having talked about it a lot with the players. Honest admission. So time for Sharon to act and take him out of his misery. He has hit his ceiling.
ps.. I thought McAtee had a good game. Showed fight, grit and skill throughout.

Yes he does.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 4:42 pmRespect to Jack Dearden again. He does ask the right questions.
His ego (Evatt) is astonishing, it is all about him - he's been backed to the hilt by the board and spent £M's by our recent standards - and he's won and achieved what ? 3rd in League 2 and won the tin pot trophy.
All the negativity is around and because of Evatt, its his shite tactics, his shite football, his players, his signings - he is so fecking arrogant.
Just go Evatt, the fans don't want you here any more.

Saw the clips on X. Couldn't look Jack Dearden in the eyes when answering. Sure these are sound bytes trying to defend his position, but his answer is symptomatic of the usual tripe he's coming out with. We need to see the change and we're not seeing it.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 4:41 pmQuotes here. The question was asked.

We knew against Stockport we'd end up putting in a bad performance, we knew the same against Birmingham, we were a little optimistic against Wigan (as they were performing badly this season) and lo and behold we even managed to bugger that up.
We can't get excited about tough games in the league because for some reason we put out inept performances time and time again.
It's not about a lack of respect, it's about acknowledging what we're seeing and doing something about it.
I'm firmly of the belief that Keith Hill would be putting in performances at the level that Evatt is putting out. Evatt's had the money that Hill didn't have. The only difference is soundbytes. Evatt sounds better.

It’s truly unbelievable. And those who said ‘nothing like Megson’ I remain absolutely firm that this is much much worse. 18th in the premiership and still a good chance to stay up and a chairman who was experienced in the game and prepared to act. And Megson like Evatt hated the fans.

I'd disagree. The direction of travel under Megson was clearly downward (as is Evatt), but at least Evatt's tenure looks like it may be sniffing around the playoffs where we could potentially get promoted. It's an absurd thought given the feeling around the club, but there is that possibility. Megson never looked like progressing the club forward, Evatt at least has a chance.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 5:15 pmIt’s truly unbelievable. We were expected to challenge for the automatics. We're nowhere near.

We were in the premiership. Vs league one. It’s literally leagues worse. We had a survival in the premiership if we were lucky budget. Progress was simply staying up. We didn’t have anywhere else to go.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 5:25 pmI'd disagree. Evatt has held us back from progress. The ceiling is way higher than where he’s got us stuck.

As one of those who says (rather than said) "nothing like Megson" I generally mean over their whole tenure. The bits that get you sacked are broadly the same for all. There is little doubt he's done objectively and measurably better.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 5:15 pmIt’s truly unbelievable. Doubling down on being wrong is fine, mate. But as a lifeline, my expectations of what I thought Megson should do was different.

I'm not going to attribute Evatt's tenure as worse than Megson's on the basis of where in the pyramid they were given the job. Nor would I say Megson's was better than Evatt's due to Megson getting the gig in the Premiership.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 5:26 pmWe were in the premiership. Vs league one. Both were given vast sums of money relative to their position and both have seemingly not delivered after spending money.

Re: Lies, damned lies and now the damned tics. Wigan (H) Saturday 12.30pm
Keeping Bolton wanderers in the premiership is a much much tougher job than managing them in the lower leagues. So no I disagree. Megson was poor but had to deal with losing our best players and operating in a league where most had far bigger budgets. And of course expectations were somewhat crazy against the backdrop of what was happening behind the scenes.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 5:27 pmAs one of those who says (rather than said) "nothing like Megson" I generally mean over their whole tenure. Put it this way its now very close in regards to Megson v Evatt, and it is / was much easier for Evatt to achieve success than Megson given the budget and backing he's had verses the other teams in the respective leagues.
I actually think that Evatt is now past the point of no return, he has totally and completely lost the fans.

Re: Lies, damned lies and now the damned tics. Wigan (H) Saturday 12.30pm
I’m not particularly interested in comparing Evatt to past managers. All that’s relevant in the here and now is whether he’s the right man to take us forward, or if there’s someone else we could turn to improve our lot. I think we’d all be in agreement on the answer to that one.
Re: Lies, damned lies and now the damned tics. Wigan (H) Saturday 12.30pm
This is the crux of the matter isn’t it. We’ve had these bad results in ‘big’ games for years under Evatt, and there aren’t many players who’ve been constants through that period. The one constant is the manager.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 5:08 pm"The pressure and stress of this game is too big for some." Well, Ian, you've fielded different players down the years.
