He's probably playing five a side with Ian Nolan, Ricky Hunt and Anthony Gardner.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Lights are out at Man City according to SSN so don't think we can expect anything with SWP.

Ahh well, it's nice to dream that for once we could pull out a 'shock' move before the window slams shutDJBlu wrote:Lights are out at Man City according to SSN so don't think we can expect anything with SWP.

SWP is big enough news just about so that if anything was remotely happening Sky would have plastered it all over their news service by about midday today!
Re: January transfer window...
Only thing garuanteed tonight is I won't be staying up to the end of this window.
Bruce, genius roundabout comment. Made me chuckle.

Re: January transfer window...
SWP would have his medical tommorow anyway, it wouldn't matter with a loan. If he's crocked we'd send him back. I think that's wishful thinking though.
I think also to suggest that only players who score 10 goals in four/five months are good enough for us, is setting our sights slightly high, given that 14 is highest anyone has ever managed in a PL season (in all comps). If he showed that form consistently, he wouldn't be playing for us. Davies has only ever come close to that once, why would his replacement have to do it all the time?
So given that he'll effectively be a free transfer, it all lines up to me. We're already having to think towards replacing Davies, why make it doubly hard for ourselves?
I think he's earnt one, if he played for another club we'd all be saying "Get him in on a free". He could go on holiday tommorow, not kick another ball, and he'll still finish comfortably as our top scorer.officer_dibble wrote:He's still to bloody earn one as far as I'm concerned.Tombwfc wrote:When did it become know that Elmander is leaving in the summer anyway?
Still think the most likely, and best option for us, is that he'll sign a new deal.
I was hoping for more than 4 months of, admittedly, top notch centre forward play.
For me £6mil + and I can understand the position of - thanks for the efforts and "we'll go with what we have got". Its 500k a league place right? so we can afford to drop 12 league places (and not be in the bottom 3!!) at that, and we aint gonna finish 5th with Elmo.
He perks up again and does the business and its get a deal signed - form is temporary an all that, but at the moment I'm seeing 2 years of nowt, 4 months of class. On August - Dec though, he's a spot on replacement for a retiring Kevin Davies (when he retires obviously).
I'm just not yet sold enough on him to say yeah give the man a spanking new deal...which is probably a change from November for sure. Mind, who would we bring in, in the summer? Who would be a manager...

From the Potential B0ll0cks Desk
10.11pm: This from our man in Jorvik, Marti Ost. "At the Hotel du Vin in York, have just spotted Elmander with a few suits meeting another couple of suits. My guess is officials from NUFC but what do I know?" Perhaps he's been to the railway museum as well.
Much as you hate it, gotta love deadline day

I'm all for keeping him, I'm just not up for having to replace him AND Davo with no money.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind

If they're talking to him, really, then they must have waved a reasonable fee in Gartside's face.

Ah ignore me. Said former poster "tweeted" the comment as his own, with no acknowledgement of source. Hmm... this Mandy this hasn't gone away actually. The words "deal" and "done" keep appearing next to his name with alarming regularity

Well, Wengers been busy in the transfer market... To quote BBC Sport

And Wilshere on Twitter...1419: To all you Arsenal fans who thought you wouldn't get a mention on transfer deadline day, you were wrong. Are you ready for this? BBC Lincolnshire report that 20-year-old Gunners defender Gavin Hoyte has extended his loan deal at Lincoln until the end of the season. You can pick yourselves up off the floor now...
Sigh... Thats gonna be as good as it gets for Arsenal i reckon... Wenger won't buy..."BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS: I have just moved from the sofa to my bed!!"

Elmander is going nowhere. I like the fact that people believe a few twitter nice people over Coyle himself!
