Re: The breaking News thread...
New owners take on company with assets and liabilities, except those both parties agree not to transfer. Can't see Eddie keeping any liabilities myself, so that means it's all on SS. I'd have thought any sort of competent folk involved in due diligence would make sure player contracts were looked at for any sort of payment clauses and bonuses etc.jonnycooper wrote:Can they not get around some of these things? Aye well if ED hadn't taken it right to the last minute it might have been sorted.Worthy4England wrote:That's not how it works. There'll be a million and one questions during DD. I still think the club either were incompetent and didn't know or they deliberately hid it.

Back to talking bollocks I see. I'm guessing you've never done DD. The party doing the inbound DD asks the questions they want to ask. If they don't ask it's not up to ED or his team to provide the answers. That's how it works. If DD lasts a very short time, then there's only so many questions that can be asked and answered by both parties.BWFC_Insane wrote:Aye well if ED hadn't taken it right to the last minute it might have been sorted.Worthy4England wrote:That's not how it works. ^ no - what Insano means is that ED should have done the deal much much quicker - thus giving SS LESS time to ask questions like this... oh... hang on... now I'm confused...

Aye that's the one - ED gawd dang him, I mean there he was changing the structure of the bid by removing a key backer and all, imposing all those questions that the FL needed answering yadda, yadda....thebish wrote:^ no - what Insano means is that ED should have done the deal much much quicker - thus giving SS LESS time to ask questions like this... oh... hang on... now I'm confused...

What I find odd about the Spearing situation is that it appears Lennon didn't know either. If you were limited in the games you could play him it'd be odd chucking him on as a sub (twice) after 85 minutes

The same thought crossed my mind too, I'm not overly convinced that Lennon was as in the dark about all this as he makes out he was. It's totally bizarre.Harry Genshaw wrote:What I find odd about the Spearing situation is that it appears Lennon didn't know either. Re: The breaking News thread...
The official facebook has just released photos of training "Jiminhios first training session" or whatever. Looks like its at the macaroon? Have we vacated Euxton now?
Re: The breaking News thread...
We always trained at the bok on Wednesdays under Sam. Don't know if this is bringing that back or we've carried on doing it. Used to get the players in JD Sports (where I worked) afterwards which was fun.

Re: The breaking News thread...
aye - that'll cheer up Peter Reid! Glad to see he still values his association with us - I had thought we got a bit lost in the equation with his association with Everton and Sunderland...Gary the Enfield wrote:Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Breaking news: Peter Reid's back!
