Announcing all these done deals/not done deals isn't that impressive when they've already been in the papers beforehand LL.

Nixon reporting he's turned down West Ham to stick with us on lower wages. Fair play to the bloke. Hope he still has something to offer us.

Wanderers' keeper conundrum nears completion
11:50pm Thursday 16th June 2011

Exclusive By Marc Iles »

ALI Al-Habsi’s move to Wigan Athletic is on the verge of completion after the Latics submitted a bid close to Wanderers’ £4million valuation.

Owen Coyle has given the Oman international the green light to move to the DW Stadium after receiving news that Jussi Jaaskelainen is close to agreeing a new contract.

An improved bid from the Wigan is expected before the weekend, after which Coyle will concentrate on landing his first signing of the summer.

Celtic and their fans are ridiculous, they wouldn't last 5 mins in the Premier League
Just to say the blindingly obvious - if a club the size of Celtic was allowed to join the Prem they would be serious challengers for the Champions League within three seasons. Or less. So would Rangers.

Obviously...

Oh - their current squad would not be relegated either...
Would they fook. Newcastle get similar crowds. And similar 'passion'. And have more money. And they'd both be bottom half. Not go down, maybe, but be close.

DSB, I'm saying with Premier League income, a basic 40(whatever)M package they could sort enough of a squad out to stay up. Within a 3-5 year plan they could quite realistically charge Arsenal like season-ticket prices (£1,000 plus) and still sell out every week, they'd be a more attractive proposition to potential sponsors, high-end players and eventually oil-rich investors because they clearly have both history and potential to be one of the biggest clubs in the country.

Newcastle have a big stadium, they're not a big club like Celtic or Rangers are.

Loads of folk knocking around Glasgow who can afford grand a year season tickets. That shower of filth can't compete with Arsenal price wise, and they piss Glasgow into a cocked hat global appeal wise. Celtic would be fooked. Rangers would be dry fooked.

Daily Mail is saying Brown not coming. No bid made. Not Owen's style.

Does this mean the whole Doni thing was just to get Jussi to hurry up and sign a cheap contract? Probably. Won't sign. Okay we can get a Brazilian international keeper from Roma for $1m...

As for Al Habsi, I'd double the price for Wigan than I would i fhe were going anywhere else. Sham Villa have got so much other stuff going on otherwise they would be in I reckon.

Samba in there does reduce the chance of them taking Cahill, which is alright by me.
Is there a link to this as I can't find it anywhere?
Course there isn't. LL posts shit as bonafide fact without any evidence to back it up
Aye, shit like Faye and Gardner going to West Ham.

The deals have been signed, just waiting on the announcement, that's all

Don't get the fuss over this Scott Dann character - some papers claiming he's off to Stoke for £12m - surely they mean £1.2m?

Nope, which is one of the reasons that I think we've set the bar too low for Cahill. They are saying that Dan is roughly 2/3rds the player of Cahill I'd go at 1/8th myself
Pfffft.
