Weird, who is our cover at left back? Ream I guess. Great....

I guess it means Riley and Threlkeld are considered enough for right back.

Dougie was clearly unhappy with him towards the end of the season, so I'm not really surprised. Hopefully Blackburn are paying all his wages.

I think outside friendlies Ream was always going to be considered back-up there given we've got Moxey and Tierney hopefully not too far away.

Yeah, right back though. Either he reckons Oscar is the real deal, Riley has had his body reinforced with Adamantium, someone else is on the way, or we're f*cked big time!

I'd have been disappointed if Baptiste started the first game ahead of Oscar to be honest.

Threlkeld deserves a chance unless we can bring in a real top right back.

It's a pity really as he SHOULD have been a very strong capture. .. and no-one can say DF didn't try with him. He gave him enough games. Those glut of penalties and the sending off finally broke his patience I guess.

I've long thought, as Pru said earlier, that it must have been contractual that he never played centre half.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Yup. Ream at CB and Baptiste at LB makes no sense at all to me. I took it from BWFCi's comments that Ream is a terrible LB that he didn't see Baptiste there much last year! Oh my. That lad's rear-end must look like a cheese-grater the number of new arseholes he was ripped.

Plus he got rave reviews at Blackpool at centre-half!

So when you think about it, he's signed a saviour and then sent him out on loan a year later.

I'm just glad we've got money to burn so things like this don't really matter.

Managers get stuff wrong sometimes. Other times things that are good in theory just don't work out.

Anyhow he was free. Hardly the worst waste of money we've had this year, let alone in the last few seasons.

Sky sports reporting :

Our reporters are hearing that Premier League newcomers Burnley have agreed a fee with Championship side Middlesbrough to take striker Lukas Jutkiewicz to Turf Moor from the Riverside.

Hope Juke has his mind dead set on joining us and will not agree to go. Hope we come up with the cash now that we have let some top earners off.

That was from this morning, seems like Boro and Burnley playing games rather than anything real at this stage.....

Boro just signed a striker from Spain and now seem ready to trade Juke.

The premier league team being involved has nobbled us, we were his prefered destination at championship level as he is a square peg in a square hole.

Premier league is too much of a draw. Obviously!

Burnley need a man up front like the juke with Vokes being out.

Would be surprised if vokes goes. Decent partnership that tho they could do with a juke shaped lump.

Well, not withstanding our finances overall, there have been some serious wages cleared off the bill this summer. This time last year we signed Baptiste from under the noses of clubs saying we were offering wages which were beyond their budgets. Clubs like Derby & Ipswich.

It does sound a bit like Agent talk & Burnley would be only too happy to mess our club about. Can't think why.

Like it or not the priority is clearly to slash expenditure. If we can have a decent season then alls the better but I suspect that the way things are going the primary aim is to cut our cloth according to our means. Which might not make for pretty viewing, I suspect.....
