Arsenal are bringing Mertesacker in, Spurs don't have the money , can't see anyone else coming in at this stage.
Not sure about that, though they may not wish to spend on Cahill or at all.

Hmmm, possibly. Don't think that "gelling" is a myth, in my opinion.
It's a bit of both. Throw a completely new team together, and it would be naive to think that they wouldn't be able to perform to a good standard as a team straight away.

However, puttimg two or three new players into a team that has played together for a few years, there wouldn't be too much of a problem.

That's an old-fashioned cliche - a load of bollocks too.

They're pro footballers, not a bunch of blokes in a park. 'Gelling' is a myth.
Really? Now that's a far better example of bollocks. At times, particularly defending, we've looked like none of ours ever met each other. Why bother training as a team, just do some running and a couple of visits to the gym then?

Well as you say, it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Funny then how some players drop right in and are on fire immediately.

Sturridge for example - like shit off a shovel - no gelling.
Elmander - here for three years - never quite did 'fit'.

Indeed it is. I'm inclined to borrow CAPS's lorry for this one.

In the real world of football video games there is obviously no gelling coefficient for new players in a team.

we had too many players out and in the end it was good resiult because we have signed 3 players since and more are coming. But you guys tried to fleece us knowing we are desperate and played yourself here. Because now Spurs will know you have 24 hours to do a deal or lose him for free. Good luck to Cahill though, he has handled himself like a pro unlike your clown chairman

You have signed players, yes.

One being Mertesacker - a massive stump
Another being a leftback from Brazil - well known as being ace, they are

You personally however have acted like a massive nice person.

Enjoy watching Mertesacker  Not often we get a defender over here who Kevin Davies can out-run.

Wenger fails again. Had the money. Gone for cheap foreign imports like Mertesacker, Chu-Young and Santos rather than Premier League experience.

You mean "have his services for another year"!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Being Brazillian automatically means Pele, Socrates, Garrincha and Roberto Carlos all rolled into one. Thought you'd know that LL.

You've known for the last two years you've needed a centre-back. You came seeking to test our resolve with a shit bid. You lied about the shit bid and came back with a slightly higher shit bid which we turned down.

Had you been desperate you would have offered (close to) his stated value and not pissed about with insults. You (Arsenal) are the losers in this state of affairs. Now jog on you South London tosspot.

I doubt that you'll be using the words "Mertesacker" and "good result" that often in the coming months - so enjoy it while you can!

anyway - now Arsenal's interest is officially at an end - you've no obvious reason to be here. it's been lovely getting to know you - we'll miss you.

you can have a lollipop off that nice man over there before you leave.
