When he talks about 433 do you think he means three strikers?!

The difference he's talking about v Saturday would be Lowe sitting, Vela starting a bit deeper and the wingers playing higher. There won't be much change in personnel (and Oz absolutely won't be playing the #9!!)

Think Allardyce glory years shape.

He described Saturday as 4-5-1 off the ball 4-3-3 on it!

Interested to see what he does Saturday. Does he put Alf behind Magennis (ala the Pboro friendly) and drop Vela alongside Lowe?

ALF is going to be very unhappy if he isn't involved as it suggests there is little to no chance of him playing anytime soon.

Garner very unlikely today according to the Ipswich end. They have to sign Windass first and that is a tricky deal as Rangers want him for tonight's game.

Two other championship clubs also in for Garner.

I'd say its highly highly unlikely.
Ipswich's recruitment has been quite interesting. Bought 7 or 8 from Leagues One and Two but when Accrington's second top scorer is going for 2M you know the game's gone.

Whilst I'm not overly excited by Garner, it's not a good thing to miss out on any target at this stage. The manager has targets that he feels give us a chance to do something in the division. Thus, let's hope he gets his targets, whether or not we personally want this type or that type. Obviously I'd like his targets to be someone I want to watch play football, but hopefully he gets who he needs.

Ipswich end saying we aren't meeting their valuation on Garner and that is the major issue. Ipswich prepared to call our bluff.

Depends what their valuation is on whether we are bluffing.

Rumours that we're trying to sign Kemen, ex NUFC, now at Lyon on a free. Only real football has been at a Ligue 2 club on loan.

22. On the face of it a bit of an odd one. Mind Ken spends a lot of time in France it seems.....

EDIT: Iles says not happening. Sounds like one we tried for though.

Kemen was excellent at Toulon with France a while back and he was spoken of a lot whilst on loan as G.Ajaccio - he banged in goals from midfield, as I recall.

He won't happen today if at all.

Sounds like we enquire about hundreds of players and only follow up or get serious about a few. Ken likes to cast the net wide it seems.

Is Ligue 2 below Championship level? Or approx the same

Kemen's Wiki page has him at Bolton this season?

Any good?
I assume he pushes forward a lot as he has 9 goals in 35 Premier League 2 appearances.
A left back who a third of the time plays winger attacking mid. Has even played striker.
Don't think he would get a job if Insane interviewed him.
Defenders first I agree. Bibi made me nervous and Henrik gave me conniptions. Quinton Fortune?
The position is cursed.

Ligue 2 is an odd one when comparing it to English leagues. There aren't as many top players as in the Championship, so the overall quality is lower, but there are far more talented young players who get a real chance. The technical quality is pretty high too and it's extremely competitive. The money is lower in France, so they're not as flooded with foreign imports and so clubs tend to rely more on their academies. It's slightly different right now, as there are a number of traditionally "big" clubs that have been relegated lately and so the quality is higher than normal and there are more veterans and foreign players than there usually would be.

Ta, sounds like a good league to get talent. Good model all the young tyros playing every week. They are world champions.

There's a huge amount of talent in France, but most of it is raw. Clubs in England won't take risks, because the money is too great to risk failure and so by the time most English clubs will look at French player he's proven himself and is worth tens of millions. Leicester are an exception. They have looked at the French lower leagues and benefited massively.

What we should do is formalise a feeder club at League 1 or 2 level. Get a bunch of French maybes and bung them down there then bring the best ones up next year. Sort of like the Spanish and Italian systems. Get in first.

Lucky coin has let me down... And Illes as well...Blaming player strike for being off-putting.

Birmingham City heavily rumoured to be signing Gary Gardner on loan.
The midfielder came desperately close to joining Wanderers earlier in the summer.

Illes hinting player strike scuppered the earlier Garner deal and the Gardner deal. And others.
Anyone starting with G...Lots of goalies walked away.

Can't blame lucky coin for that debacle.
