Would love to see Moreno get the start again, he impressed, I think with Robo out then maybe give Alonso a game, i do get the feeling he could end up our very own gareth bale, well i can hope anyway!

I agree, but I'm slightly worried about Petrov.

Poor performances and several times thrown his toys out of the pram at subs, hopefully Coyle can keep his head in the game because I kinda feel that when we signed him, he thought he'd start every game.

Does anyone know if we can pay at the turnstiles at Anfield?

Notice we haven't scored at Anfield since 2003... We hadn't scored at Everton since 2004 either so be good to put this one to bed.

Am i right in thinking matty taylor has played left back in the past? If not for us for portsmouth or whoever? Might be a really long stretch but if needs must, did a farely good job defending from the wing against chelsea i felt

If you'd been to Burnley or a few of our reserve games this season, you'd know that Alonso is the furthest thing possible from Bale.

Thanks, pal.

I have a feeling we will concede again so that mean's we will have to score at least 2 to win. I'm not sure we have it in us with the amount of fixtures we've played recently :( .

But I would "LOVE IT" if we beat them :D .

What would you say are his strengths? I know he's far from the finished article so let's talk in terms of potential/developing skillsets I guess.

I think Moreno warrants another start, and Taylor at LB with Petrov starting might be worth a try. As for Petrov, I think Coyle and the fans alike thought he would be starting week in, week out. He only has himself to blame because Taylor earned his way back into the team as far as I'm concerned.

O.C mentions this morning he isn't sure if Steinsson will be fit against Liverpool. Right now I'd say Ricketts has earned the right to his place. (and it isn't just because he nutmegged Ashley Cole...honestly).

Well he has little to no pace, he can't throw and his positioning is poor.
On the bright side, he seems to have decent ball control and seems to have an eye for a pass.
Can't really comment on his tackling as he doesn't seem to get stuck in, in the games I've seen.

Quite tempted to go to this now, think we've got a decent chance of a result for the first time in ages at Anfield.

Bit worried that Robbo is out as he's been such a consistant player for us this year and Alonso was out of his depth at Burnley. Would be happy with Ricketts on the left if Steinsson can win his fitness battle but think it might come a bit soon for him.

We need to start keeping a few more clean sheets away from the Reebok because asking us to score two every away match is a big ask.

Wolves caused Liverpool all sorts of problems by getting behind them in wide areas so if we can get Ricketts, Moreno and Taylor pushing forward on the wings and get some men into the box then we should get chances.
Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,

Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Interview with Coyle on the official site indicates that Alonso will replace Robinson against these tossers.

Backed up by Nixon on the Mirror site, too
Bolton boss Owen Coyle will hand Spanish left back Marcos Alonso his first Premier League starts - as his squad is slashed to a record low.

Young former Real Madrid prospect Alonso, Coyle's only cash buy in his year in charge, will come in for suspended Paul Robinson who has been an ever-present this season.

Alonso has only made a couple of Carling Cup appearances and missed out on reserve games during the big freeze, but Coyle is confident he is up for the Anfield challenge.

Robinson's absence and Alonso's promotion means that Bolton will probably only have 16 fit senior pros available to take on the Kop.

I'm not but I do have more confidence in Coyle than myself so let's go.

Well if Robinson, Holden and Steinsson are all out surely we need to name some youngsters on the bench.
We can't really just have a bench of Bogdan, Petrov, Blake, Klasnic can we, surely we need one defender.
Saying that though, Mark Connolly is going to a party tonight so can't see him being there.

What's happened to Joey O? He was angling for a move out on loan not that long ago, so presumably he must be fit enough to sit on the bench.

There's a number of our reserves that seem to have fallen off the face of the earth. There seem to be very few updates on when Joey, Gardner, Samuel and Davis could be returning to the first team squad if they're injured. Gavin McCann? I know he isn't in the 25 man squad, but where is he?

Using the club's facilities to get himself fit and I remember Coyle said he'd give him a chance to prove himself.
Also about 8 weeks ago I saw him in Bolton arena in a full Bolton tracksuit.
As for Joey, his return date is unkown, same with Gardner and Samuel.
Davis is expected back in February.
Also why does Coyle keep saying we have the smallest squad in the league? Chelsea do. They only have 19 players in their 25 man squad and they still manage to fill the bench every week with players like McEachran etc.
