Happy with dealings in the main, sorry the toon didn't take Mandy.
My city fan reckons we'll do well with Sturridge seen quite a lot of him he has too he'd watch fleas training for the circus if they wore city kits.

Watson was superb for Wigan last night too, tenacious and precise in his passing - scored too.
At the moment someone like him is MILES ahead of where Muamba is. At the moment I wouldn't trust Muamba to pass wind without cocking it up

Re: January transfer window : The hangover
Overall a successful window. Would have been perfect if we had been able to pick up another midfielder but considering how silly it was getting can't complain and we managed to keep hold on Cahill. Agents cocking up deals for their players in order to get a payoff etc. Can't believe the price for Torres and Carroll. As someone said in another thread it made Bent look like a steal.

Am I a £35M striker?

Hi,
I scored 24 goals helping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22.
Then in my first season in the top flight I had bagged an impressive 15 goals by the end of January. Including a goal against the reigning champions, away at Arsenal and in a home win over Liverpool. My form earned me an England call-up and my debut in an international friendly.
Am a I £35M striker?
No I am Michael Ricketts February 2002.
Uncanny

Those who say the thing they wanted most was a midfielder: would you have said that if we'd signed a midfielder but not a centre-back?
Not a bad window, with a good permanent signing and a promising loanee striker. Worried about central midfield - like I say, I might have been wondering whether it would be worth paying up to get Pratley now - but we'll see.

I don't think anyone has said instead of. I think its more a case of every transfer window every club says that with a new centre half, new midfielder and new forward we'd be x number of places better off. Call it the Andranik syndrome perhaps. Its certainly the conversation I've had ad infinitum since I was 14.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

OC just on R5Live
Interesting take on Vela
Arsenal were fine - agreed wages, loan fee etc
Vela seemed to be OK
Then Vela's (Spanish?) agent got involved - extra demands - unspecified and allegedly substantial
So OC told Gartside to walk away.
Then Sturridge appeared on the scene - just wanted to play - never mentioned money...
Deal done

I had CB, CM and striker in that order.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Those who say the thing they wanted most was a midfielder: would you have said that if we'd signed a midfielder but not a centre-back?

As it happens, in the absence of a CM, I'll quite happily tale someone with the ability to latch on to wayward backpasses in the 93rd minute.

Not bringing in a centre mid just means we're gonna be on 4-4-2 rest of the season - you can't play anything but for me with that squad.
