From memory, Jon Newsome was the saviour that never was, cos we couldnt afford to buy both him & Warhusrt after impressive loan spells that transformed our defence.

Akinori Nishizawa. This guy was meant to take the Premiership by storm.

They even printed BWFC shirts with his name on the back using Japanese script

Didn't extend the same courtesy to Nakata, strangely

I've had to take Petrov out, Nishizawa is the best of the suggestions so far...

We need defenders. How about Florent Laville? Awesome, then injured, then returned like Simon Coleman did....a shadow! Dean Holden can also be added to this list. Maybe that's the defence done with? Holden, Laville, Coleman, Newsome

Old players who didn't play much aren't saviours.

You can't have a defensive saviour, it just cannot be.

Julio Cesar? Remember it being a big signing at the time from Real Madrid, but did feck all. Vincent Candela in the same season too if I remember correctly.

What are you suggesting, we play 0-5-5?

I don't think you can be a saviour if you were once good for us, then got injured and came back less good. Doesn't seem quite the same, somehow.

In any event, I give you Len Cantello.

Surely, he was the man to keep us up? Surely...
