I can't imagine it will be any time soon.Lord Kangana wrote:I'm hoping that whatever it is thats really wrong with Steinsson gets sorted soon, as he can fill in at both fullback and centre-half when required.
If what has been rumoured is true, it's gonna be a lengthy process and it's not the kind of thing you can just say "Do you want to play for us or not?" to...

That's if what's rumoured was true.
Certainly Coyle was talking only last week about him being on his way back. Wouldn't be suprised to see him next week.

Can you do me a favour, Tom? Can you PM me with whatever that rumour is as I feel a little in the dark here?Tombwfc wrote:That's if what's rumoured was true.
May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: Joe Riley...

Oh well, not as crazy as the Rosicky rumour that was doing the rounds while he was out "injured"! Anyhow, hope he returns to the first team squad sometime soon

Aye there was a photo that proved everything wasn't there? You know, man sits at table with several pints in front of him = alky in rehab.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I just hope it's not true and that he's back on the pitch soon!

Re: Joe Riley...
I asked Marc Iles on Twitter to get closure on the whole Mark Connolly topic and basically asked;
"If Blakeman and Connolly are playing very well, we are in the middle of a defensive crisis and they can't get on the bench then what is the point in the reserve team?"
He basically said that Mark Bright said something similar in the press box and then elaborated that;
Connolly is seen as a Midfielder by Coyle
Bennett is seen as the next best CB (but he's injured)
Muamba would be played CB in an emergency
Mark Davies was meant to be the 7th bench-warmer on Sunday but was ill
Didn't mention Blakeman but I was quite satisfied with the answer

Re: Joe Riley...
Connolly has been playing in midfield in the reserves, and doing an awful lot better than he did at centre half.

Re: Joe Riley...
Midfield is where I've seen him play most to be honest, and his technical ability for a defender seems fantastic so I think it is the best move to develop him into a holding midfielder.Riviman wrote:Connolly has been playing in midfield in the reserves, and doing an awful lot better than he did at centre half.
