If we get to the final then there is going to be some serious thinking and questions asked.

I don't know what I'm doing, all i do know is that my mate has gone to a lot of effort and I don't think it's things he can really change :(

If we get to the final and play one of the top 4 (already qualified for europe) does that give us a placein europe? or do we have to win the whole thing?

We would qualify i think, which is how millwall qualified for Europe 6 years ago. Unless its changed recently?
Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,

Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Here you go Chris....

UEFA Cup Qualification
Places in the UEFA Cup are generally awarded to competition cup winners and teams who finish in various runners-up places in the top leagues of Europe. There may be more or less teams from any given country depending on team successes.

Qualification of both UEFA competitions is fairly complicated, with different methods of qualification depending on the standing of the winner and domestic cup competition regards the runner up. An example of qualification for an English team could be the winners of the League Cup and FA Cup qualifying, as well as the team finishing 5th in the Premiership.

The FA Cup winner may not automatically qualify for the Champions League, owing to its league position, but if it does, the FA Cup runner-up goes to the UEFA Cup; however, the League Cup runner-up will not. Furthermore, if the League Cup winners have qualified for European play, either by league position or through the FA Cup, then 6th and 7th Premiership teams may enter, to boot.

Unlike the world cup, the previous winners of the UEFA Cup do not necessarily have automatic qualification for the current UEFA Cup or UEFA Champions League, although they may be admitted at the request of the club association.

What a crock of shit. The "Liverpool" rule, if you're a 'big' team from a 'big' country, you'll get in.

That's how i read it but it's not from the official UEFA/FA websites so before you get too carried away maybe somebody else could confirm

I'd love to see it pan out like this

Arsenal Beat Utd
West Ham beat Stoke
Reading beat City

Semi's
West Ham Beat Arsenal
We beat Reading

A West ham - Bolton final could be a cracker IMO!
I sense a sequel...

On the official site, it now says that season ticket holders will be guaranteed the "opportunity" of a semi-final ticket. Now, what I think that means is that they'll go on sale to season ticket holders first and foremost for a period of time before they go on open sale...

And if it's true that we're gonna be given 30K+, then there's gonna be an awful lot of people who we haven't seen in a bit turning up to finally see the OC revolution!

Hmm I can't see us taking a full allocation for the SF. I guess if we drew Man Utd we might on the basis folk would go because they'd assume we're be less likely to make the final.

Mind there seems a real buzz around the town now so we might take a few more than we might normally!

what happens if the finals between city and united and they both qualify for proper europe ?

does the fa cup's waffa place go to a semifinal losers play off ? or Xth in the league.

i kno it used to go to the next in line in the league but i thought theyd changed it so 3rd/4th place in the cup gets one.

[edit] it still goes to the league place.

i only thought that coz i remember newcastle begging for it once.

I'm down in Hertford that weekend so if our semi is the Sunday I'd love to be there (don't think I could make the Saturday unless the kick off is 5ish). Trouble is I suspect I'd rightly be at the end of a very long queue for a ticket (just in front of FanInOz). Probably just as well as I'm a terrible Jonah when it comes to seeing the Wanderers live.

I just hope the next game is as good as today's. I'm still buzzing now.

The draw for the semi's is after the Wet Spam/Stoke match (not after the City/Reading one) according to the TV guide.

I'm supposed to be at a wedding on the 16th...I'm relying on the father of the Bride, remembering he's a Bolton ST Holder and "doing the right thing". Most of the invitees are either Bolton, Utd or City fans. Should be interesting.

I've heard from a friend of a friend of a source at the club (so make as little of this as you will!) that we've requested that our Semi be played on the Sunday (17th) because we would like to use the same coaches and club staff/stewards that we will be using on the Saturday for the Sale Sharks rugby game being played at the Reebok.

How much weight the club's wishes will carry compared to those of the FA, TV, or our potential opponents remains to be seen however.
