I opened this thread half-expecting to see a statue of Michael Jackson.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Jonathan Spector linked. Versatile, and has been thrown the unenviable shoes of Scott Parker to fill as an industrious midfielder.

ITK that he's got smelly feet?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Have to say I like the sound of this guy.enrdentw wrote:I would like to see us splash the cash (if we have any or from the sale of Cahill) on:
Danny Graham from Watford, could be the natural replacement for Davies.
Nathanial Clyne from Palace, seen him play a few times this season and he looks the part, reminds me of a young Ashley Cole but at right back.
Pratley from Swansea - arguably one of the best players in the second tier could work with Holden well.
A new centre half - will be almost impossible to replace Cahill.
A couple of loan gems
And a foreigner we have never heard of who turns out to be a world beater...

Now now, no need to pick the litter's runts. You've said a time or two that this summer is a big one for rebuilding, so who from that list would you suggest?BWFC_Insane wrote:Don't think that list is entirely accurate but hey....

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Ricardo Fuller. He is good in the air and on the ground! Good for a season! I think he would work well with someone like Sturridge.
Thoughts on Woodgate if we can get him fit?

If that list is accurate then Reo Coker would be a good addition. I also think Jonas Olsson and Marek Cech would be worth a look.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Now now, no need to pick the litter's runts. Other than that I'd pass on it myself, but I'm certainly not going to pretend that I'm any judge of a signing or assembly of a football team!

Both as injury prone as each other! Both great, but both are a massive gamble.m_taylor wrote:I can't believe that no one has mentioned Ricardo Fuller. He is good in the air and on the ground! Good for a season! I think he would work well with someone like Sturridge.

I like the idea of Reo-Coker, his game would fit in well in our middle. But I'm also aware that he can be a bit of a Charlie large big potatoes, so I'm wary.
As for the crocks, I'm all in favour of picking up the odd one, if the deal is right (ie pay-as-you-play) etc etc etc. Its worth the risk if it suits us.

Agree with all of this, Lord! The one crock I'd love to see is Michael Owen. There's no doubting his talent, it's just whether he'd accept a lower basic and a high pay-as-you-play / goal bonusLord Kangana wrote:I like the idea of Reo-Coker, his game would fit in well in our middle. Michael Owen!
FFS.
And before someone comes along to tell me how many goals he's scored this year, I don't care. I've seen him play for 30-40 minutes and you barely know he's there. Yes he's good for a goal if you create a chance.
But so is Klasnic, and we can't carry him in the side which is why he doesn't play.
Owen is finished as a regular at the top level IMO and might be a good sub for a side that needs their own Klasnic/Kevin Phillips etc but we don't.

You just cannot compare Owen to Phillips or Klasnic. That's ridiculous. Owen needs a regular run and he'll be a fantastic player for us. Klasnic is one of the biggest luxury players we've had in years. I'd have Owen over him ANY day!BWFC_Insane wrote:I knew someone had to say it.MJH-12 wrote:Agree with all of this, Lord! Even if he warms the bench it will stop him scoring against us at the very least
