Its very strange to see a player talk so openly about his ongoing situation.
I think he will just be happy to be playing football wherever he goes.

Translated into 'English'(scoffs) he says;
"Hello dear brothers on a transitional Wigan and Villa Club is nothing new club Wigan made the offer for the club Bolton 3 million but the club Bolton rejected the offer"
""Bolten asking for 5 million of any club wants to buy my contract"
"Optional club for next season will tell a guarantee for me that I play throughout the season and most importantly Hama"

I know posts like this are treated with caution, and correctly so IMO:
Bwfc have told wafc they want £4m.
Whelan has offered £3m. He knows £4m will get him.
He HASN'T offered a penny more than £3m yet...

If I'm to understand this correctly, because of the loan fee already paid, Wigan would have to stump up £4m to meet our £5m valuation, whereas Villa would have to cough up the full five. I think.

Without having any knowledge of transfer dealings at all...
The first year's load SHOULD be separate to any later sale. After all, with loans isn't it normal that the parent club pays the wages and the receiving club just pays the loan fee.

I don't think we're following any rules here. Dave Whelan is a street wise operator. If I were him, thats how I'd be levering the deal.

Looks a bit like somebody's just waiting for somebody else to say "3.5" and it'll be a done deal.

The message I get is Whelo will 'pay what it takes' and was amazed by a £4m request. His £3m offer is clearly to play the 'game'

Met him many a time through work, and away from the TV lights he's a fantastic bloke and I have a lot of time for him.CrazyHorse wrote:Yeah but to be fair, Dave Whelan is a throbbing cock end.Lord Kangana wrote:I don't think we're following any rules here. Re: Wigan launch £3 miilion bid for Ali Al Habsi
It's all about the 'game' and how you play it.
Whelan is shrewd but Garty needs to stick to his guns. £5m is a very fair price considering that Brum want £10m for Ben Foster

Pfffft.
Re: Wigan launch £3 miilion bid for Ali Al Habsi
5m is not even close to fair if Brum expect to get anywhere near 10m for Foster. Anyway back to the real world.TKIZ! wrote:It's all about the 'game' and how you play it.

Read up on his son in law, Duncan Sharpe, then, privately, I'll tell you a few stories.

May the bridges I burn light your way

Some tweeter has just pointed this out. Last paragraph says he has extended his contract with us.

He signed a 4yr deal halfway through '08, if memory serves, which would then run until the end of 2012/2013 season...

looked like it was suggesting it was a new extension. Thats what they were saying on twitter. No idea on it myself.Lofthouse Lower wrote:He signed a 4yr deal halfway through '08, if memory serves, which would then run until the end of 2012/2013 season...

Re: Wigan launch £3 miilion bid for Ali Al Habsi
I posted it, found it on a Wigan site.
Thing is, he was already signed up till 2013 so that'd lead me personally to think it's an error but someone at the club must have typed it into the site...
