woot, three-quarters there already.

Or, another way, a thirteenth of the way to 39pts and probable safety.
I'm changing that to 9

Judging by Arsenal performance yesterday, if we battle we could get something out of that. Just have to show some fight next week against the juggernaut that is Citeh.
Pfffft.

We fear no one. At least 2 wins and 3 draws = 9 points

I'd have been happy with 4 points... A draw yesterday and a win against Norwich. 6 points and I'll be very happy... I doubt we'd be bottom with that and psychological that'd be a bonus after such a hard start.

The point is that, for most of us, we can only do as badly as we fear. Anything above 4 points would be a plus. If we do as poorly as we might then no-one's going to be surprised so it's not as destructive as if it came from out of the blue.

If we do better than that then it'll be a big boost.

Yesterday's result was bigger than I first thought.

Well, we're all on a level pitch overall in the season so, all being well the good start may be of quite some value later, particularly if we pinch just a little from the big boys early on.

I must admit that I was somewhat discomfited when I first saw the draw. After a little thought, though, it came to me that it could be advantageous to us. Ignoring for the moment our rather large injury list, we will be meeting these 'hard' teams at what will probably be their weakest time of the season. New players and staff, managers still trying to mold their players into a team, fan/media/board/sponsor pressures - all could turn out to be negative influences at this point in time.

Then, yet again, Mr Pessimist raised his ugly head and laughed directly into my face. I was overtaken by despair and my knees became so unreliable as supports that I sank onto the cold tiled floor of the bathroom (I do my best thinking whilst approaching the shower stall) the shock of which caused Mr Realist to have a few quiet words with me - which steadied my equilibrium to the point of managing me to the hands-and-knees position. Let us be honest here, the sight of a sexagenarian lying on his back and throwing a tantrum is hardly a dignified spectacle.

I'm not a stoic so the shower was warm-to-hot. This meant that I got myself into a right proper lather and employed a conditioner to get my head under control. Psychiatrists, what would we do without them? Mind you, she's quite pretty.

Mr R tells me that two draws and a win are on his cards. Given that we have already pocketed three points that means 8 points. I fear that the Norwich game is his three-pointer. I'm not too sure about that. Therefore I'm predicting a further 3 points between now and then.

Nice try Hoboh.

We are probably 3 ( one for some people) points behind where we thought we would be at this stage

33 games left so not a disaster, but changes do need to be made.

Awww come on QPR could have done us in the first half! The only time we looked like getting anything was against city! Certain of the old guard need getting shut off but Coyles balls don't appear to be big enough

I started the year thinking QPR was a tricky first 'un..
and Norwich might be our first points on the board.. 5 was always my idea of a good return from the first seven..

Arsenal are fresh from shipping 12 in the last three.. and were fortunate to get gifted a home win off Swansea..
if we're ever going to get owt from the emirates and we pick the right team? This should be the year....

Nope. Bolton are an absolute gift for teams with a poor run to break, a record to get rid of, defences in need of clean sheets and strikers in need of goals. Gift-wrapped and once opened roll over and ask for our bellies to be tickled. Arsenal will tonk us.

Aye and then everyone will say Arsenal is a tough game and we can't blame Coyle for it etc, regardless of the fact Arsenal are now just an average side, struggling and yet to settle and a decent organised side would have a chance against them!

Indeed. Worst part is we won't make them work. They'll score early, and settle. They'll miss a few easy chances whilst their whinging fans start to get on their back and after a piss poor first half, we'll put up a better second half, maybe have a shot, and then they'll score another couple towards the end.

I'd say their confidence is about as shot as ours, will be a very scrappy game.

I know lets just give the feck up now.... Seasons over dyes cast...

Ring the prem and ask for inclusion in next years championship fixtures...
then all go off and get a different more socially responsible and valuable Hobby..
Do all them diy jobs that would normally have to wait until June...
and stop spouting dreary miserable knee jerk bollox all over the internet..

Agreed, Im putting some money on Torres to score at any time if he's still without a goal by the time we play Chelsea

thats a bit ironic considering the weekly megson out meltdowns whenever we played more than 4 midfielders.

owen out
