Villa don't concede many goals, its going to be tough. If k.davies starts then i'll go villa 2-0 because dunne always has k.davies in his back pocket no threat whatsoever, if ngog starts we have that pace to get in behind there defence so i would be abit more optimistic and go for a 2-1 bolton win. Am i confident that ngog will start am i feck!

Bent will do us as normal. Always scores against us, 2 1 to Villa.

We should win, we need to win, ergo we'll probably lose to a couple of goals from corners!

ah I remember the days a few months ago when I used to say "love being able to look forward to match days again now Coyle is here!".

Not looking forward to this at all though. Strangely enough though I get a sneaking suspicion we might get a draw out of this, which doesnt do us any favours but there you go.

Defeat. Don't know by how many. Bent and Agbonlahor, two of the quickest players in the Prem from a standing start against a back four consisting of Knight, Boyata, Robinson and Steinsson, assisted by a midfield that might as well be made from fresh air for all the resistance it gives? It would be a brave, brave man to bet against anything other than a Villa win.

Not too sure about the result, but may put a few quid on a sending off.

i hate the phrase, but this is a must win match. Theres a bit of a gap opened up between us and Wolves. A few teams in the bottom half play each other too so we could be cast adrift if we dont get something.
Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,

Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Wolves won yesterday, Fulham won tonight, Sunderland now have a proper manager who will spend cash. Saturday is MASSIVE. We don't win, and it is looking increasingly like f*ckety-bye-bye to the Premier League.

Hang on, didn't Wolves win against the New-Manager-is-Ace Sunderland?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

On topic.. Given is out injured until the new year. Is Brad Guzan any good who will take his place?

Yep thats where I'm at too. Seems ridiculous for one game to have so much importance already...

But we're 2 points adrift of Sunderland, but they won't go down now they've got a proper manager in charge.

Teams that might realistically go down, Wolves, Swansea we are 5 points off. That is beginning to look like "cut adrift".

Look at it this way if we go into the halfway point on 12/13 points or worse then even a 100% improvement in terms of points attained in the second half of the season may well not be enough to keep us up!

Is there a point in us starting with 11 men these days? I will be pleasantly surprised if we finish with 11!

I'm going to go with the first draw in about 9months and say it'll be 2-2 with a Zat Knight brace 8)

Just out of interest, does anyone know why Tuncay hasn't been getting a game at all? I mean with K.Davies in such poor form and N'Gog not really doing too much either, surely Tuncay should be getting a chance to prove himself?

Stat: Darren Bent has less touches of the ball than any other player in the Premier League with no more than 24.6 touches per game on average.

If we stay tight on Bent and Agbonlahor (who has the 8th least amount of touches with 39.0) and not let them turn us, they'll be starved of service. We can then build pressure and hopefully they'll crack the way we do!

We'll end our run without draws here. Match preview and report needed if anyone's up for 'em.

Sunderland play Blackburn at home, which means if we lose this we'll likely end the weekend effectively six points adrift of 17th (as opposed to the 'three/four points from mid-table').

FWIW, I think Blackburn will do us a favour and draw, while we do the same. I'd probably take that now if offered.
