Re: Littlejohn on Muamba
Folk have their own views on sentimentality and what not, it is an interesting debate. Littlejohn on the other hand is just saying stuff to be controversial. Like Clarkson without the humour and self deprecation. Littlejohn really does think he is the nation's conscience. He's not, he's a massive cnut.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
Re: Littlejohn on Muamba

Oh, I don't know really, he's pretty much expressed my own views on this seemingly relatively new phenomenon. I don't know what it's like in your plot but here there seems to be a sudden rise in road side memorials for the victims of road accidents, replete with photographs and silly doggerel. Often the inane comments made by friends of the deceased are enough to elicit a guffaw.
"He was a lovely lad, the life of any party, he'd do anything for anyone, he'll be an angel now, we'll miss him so much" are common themes. Then I look at what this 'lovely lad' was really like; he wasn't. His traffic record is so long that it'd do a novelist proud. Even the police have lost track of the number of cars he'd nicked. When he killed himself (and some mates and innocent bystanders) his licence had been suspended until 2020. The car he was driving wasn't his. His blood level of alcohol in the coroner's report indicates a reading of four times the legal limit plus the presence of illegal substances in his system.
My rant is nothing to do with Fabrice, it's just about the reaction of some people who seem to think that a public display of grief is some sort of necessity. I'm of an age where my circle of friends has been diminished over the years. Of course I grieved over the loss of each of them but my grief was over the loss of an undefinable bond between each of us and, most assuredly, not something to advertise to the world. If you don't mind I'll weep in private.

The support that was offered to Muamba was as much for his family, close friends, team mates and dare i say it supporters, as it was for him ! I for one thought that all the fans from other cluns to posted on this forum moving at times, and showed that not all fans are cretins.
I am also astonished that this moron can print a photo showing the messages of support at the reebok that clearly say "Get Well Soon"and then put a comment like "despite the fact Fabrice was not, in fact, dead". Does therefore mean that next time a friedn is in hospital i dont take a card/grapes/bunch of flowers ??
Final point, i expect a tremendous response from our fans tomorrow and if Muamba sees the reaction and the messages of support form all over the world, it can only speed his recovery ???
Spot on!

You're allowed to hold that view and simultaneously think Littlejohn is a c*nt.Dujon wrote:Oh, I don't know really, he's pretty much expressed my own views on this seemingly relatively new phenomenon. Indeed, someone with the good sense to type the former and not think the latter would be a rarity in my experience. Because he's a c*nt. An epic one.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
