Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:If we get shut of all 12(ish) players who are out of contract, we'll surely get some more in.

Questions are who, how good, and do we trust the incumbent manager to shop well?

Cos there's only so much to be gained by chasing tippy-tappy tiny Spanish midfielders.
He'll probably continue to do the latter, on the assumption that we should be able to score three a game, one division down, so letting in two every game won't matter so much.

Assuming Mears can play in the middle and Wylde/Sordell are good that looks decent to me, esp for the championship...

Bogdan
Riley Mears Ream Alonso
LCY NRC Holden Wylde
Sordell NGog

Subs: Lainton, Vela, Eagles, Pratley, M.Davies, kids

However, if NRC/Holden/LCY get sold it's a different onion.

BTW, will we have Alonso? I thought he was off too.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

You're kidding right? Mears is barely a right back, let alone a CB  From what I've seen of him he is a very very poor mans Glenn Johnson...crap at his position but gets forward ok(ish). If we're keeping him lets at least play him where he is supposed to be; we've had enough of tactical stupidity this season to last us the next few seasons

Not sure, wouldnt surprise me if he ended up at Swansea for example.
Would keep him though if at all possible.

Time to rebuild.

We have Knight, Jussi, Klasnic, Robinson, Steinsson, K Davies, Gardner, Sean Davis, Sam Ricketts, Blake and Petrov out of contract, all of whom are on a hefty wage.

Give K Davies and Ricketts new contracts and f*ck the rest off. I'd like to give Petrov and Klasnic new deals but I doubt they'd be interested.

If we can avoid selling more than 3 of M Davies, Reo-Coker, Lee Chung Yong, Holden, Ngog and Eagles, we should be alright.

Hope we sell Ngog. Bad decision signing him in the first place. He's been poor all season. Hell probably be alright next year but if anyone's gotta go I'd prefer it to be him. Would like to see Ricketts, klasnic an petrov stay but I think wages will see them gone. Reo-Coker will be sold I think.

I'm patient and understanding with most of our players, inlcuding the likes of Alonso and Pratley who need to time to develop.

Knight however, with defensive cover or not, can do one.
