Do you think that's likely?
Not until the end of September.
Rome wasn't built in a day the mess we were in when OC took over was always going to take more than a couple of season it took Big Sam 5 years to build a decent team not fighting relegation. Give OC a break!
That would be the "mess" that finished 14th in his second season? FA Cup semi finalists? 3 points off finishing 9th? That mess?

He's a clueless feck.
Expected response! The mess I am referring to is the fact that OC has had his hands tied when it comes to buying the players he would like making do with players we can now afford. BSA and Ginger tosser had money to spend on the team, our very generous benefactor has put a halt on the spending. Which is why the Academy has become a major priority at last, the only way we can now regain and sustain a stay in the top flight is to bring through the kids on a regular basis.

The only reason we managed to finish in a decent position in his first 2 seasons was the fact that the useless feck loaned the best upcoming midfielder in the land in Wilshire and Sturridge. He then lost Elmander as we could not afford to offer him any more money. He spent the money wisely buying Ngog who had a good season not spectacular but he was robbed of the service from Holden and Chungy. He also bought Sordell and for some unknown reason hardly played him but he does look a good young prospect.

OCs job is to cut the wage bill and reduce the age of the squad which he has successfully done, we unfortunately lost our top flight status but we look in good shape to give a good account of ourselves this season. As far as I can see for a useless feck he has failed on 1 count, not keeping us up which was always a big ask under the circumstances.

The alternative is Leeds, the Sheffields, Postmouth, et al who overstreached their budgets year after year until the imploded. I for one would sooner spend one or two seasons rebuilding in the championship rather than spending 5-10 years rebuilding in the lower leagues. I was there last time this happend to Bolton and believe me they were very dark days. I am optimistic for the season ahead but with football you never know.

Once again give OC a break!!!

Christ, even a thread about fixtures turns into a Coyle bashing thread.

Championship has Friday night games for Sky doesn't it? Huddersfield/Charlton away on Friday would be good.

I was there too. I was also there when we got promoted in the 70's.

He only failed on one count, if you aggregate all the little "counts" into one big one and say "all he did was get us relegated". Some of his tactical naivety, lack of team organisation - which costs nothing particularly - was quite stunning.

We did not "only finish in a decent position" because we loaned Sturridge - our team performances were worse with Sturridge, than before he came as I think were the amount of points we got. Wilshere helped the cause first season OC was here - more than likely not sure whether we'd have stayed up withou him or not.

I will see how our tactical genius does in the first ten or so games next season - with a team that has plenty of experience one Division higher, and a wage bill that should see us in the promotion spots. If he doesn't look like managing that, then I shall be calling for his head on a very pointy pole.

He only failed on one count? Brilliant. If we overlook that count was his job, we'll be fine.

Last time Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley and Blackpool were in the same league (first division) the whites won the league. First game was at Burnley which we won.
