Aye, Burrrrrrrrnley.

If memory serves, that Stockport game was a cracker - 3-3 or summat, with Micky Ricketts scoring a belter or two after appearing as sub to save our blushes. #amiright

Think it was midweek in half term, coz we were away with the family watching the highlights. Did Ricky Shakes play in that one? #improbablynotright

I seem to remember a replay, but that might be your fault. Here reckons it was 4-1 to us.

Here says 4-1 to us too, though it does mention a Ricketts cracker. They didn't get near Javi Viander's goal, David Norris scored for us, and Nobby came on for Gudni at centre half!

No Ricky Shakes.

I think I was thinking of Tranmere in 2004 when Shakes did play, and score. And Iain fecking Hume scored a belter. That game was horrible.

Nobby started off as a centre half at our academy. Allardyce pushed him into midfield because he wasn't dominant enough in the air to be a CH.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Indeed, but 2004 was along time after he left the academy. Established first team midfielder, not far off being at his absolute peak for us. Just raised a smile is all. From the same mould as full back Pedersen (good idea) full back O'Brien (good idea) full back Campo (horrendous idea), right winger Bo Hansen (meh idea) goalkeeper Bo Hansen (ace idea!).

Said it before and I'll say it again: Bo saved two shots out of four in that game, which for a while put him higher up the shots-saved-percentage list than a certain F. Barthez of MUplc :D

Was going to say - we whacked 'em. I was there. We were 3-1 up with the game in the bag when Ricketts came on. Now then, either we had a big game lined-up next, or this was the game before Ricketts' game for England, but everyone was asking why he was being risked. Anyhooo, he did indeed score an absolute beauty from the right-side corner of the box into the left-hand top corner of the goal.

Barnetto - are you not confusing it with the game (In the Leyland Daf, I think) when Wayne Entwistle came on to spare our blushes? :conf:
May the bridges I burn light your way

:D

Well Kevin 'not dominant enough in the air' Nolan scored more headers for us than giant bastard Zat Knight ever has.

I get to defend Nolan and slag off Knight. This is ace.

In fact, if say that Nolan scored as many headers in his first ever Premier League game as Zat 'giant bastard' Knight ever has for us, I can link to this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3-g7TZ4t7U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

LOL at Franny showing Robbie Savage what proper central midfielders with proper haircuts do in putting in the cross, whilst Savage fannies out of it.

PS. Bobo is banned from this thread. As is any mention, and certainly any link to 'that game' at Portman Road.

Obviously I remembered little from that Stockport game apart from us scoring four and winning. Brain must have filled in the opponents' score by default and assumed it was 4-3.

Mind you, last time I went to Edgeley Park, it was Andy Dibble's farewell appearance for us... 21 years ago

The edgeley park one (promotion season) we were 3-0 down. Got it back to 3-3 I think before they scored again in injury time.

It may have been 3-2 now I think about it. Same goals scenario though..
