If Matt Jarvis is £10m and Steven Fletcher is £14m, we might have to round it up to 1,500,010.Wandering Willy wrote:£1.50000001m should do it.

Think we can get Spearing for 2m, and it would be money well spent. Hes a very good passer with both feet, rarely gives the ball away and is a talker on the pitch, he wouldn't win many headers in the air though but that's not important.

We have enough big lads for that, we need someone who can put there foot on the ball and keep possession that's something we are shit at. Take the pressure of the back 4.

Who's these players we got that's good in the air
Davo (he offers very little goal threat in the air)
Knights alrite in our box (at this level) but shocking at the other end
Mills havent really seen enough of him to judge
Id probably say Pratley is the best in the air

Ricketts is alrite i suppose
And that's about it really

Re: Spearing £3Mil
I'm now at the "please god, just anyone who can tackle" stage.
So the question for me is, unsurprisingly "Can he tackle?". Obviously "well" would be a bonus, and "is a bit aggressive and can get around the pitch for 90 minutes" the cherry on top.
Can the more initiated amongst us please confirm those three attributes apply to Spearing?
If so, then big fat f*cking yes from me.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

The winner at Brumegem leaps readily to mind.

Re: Spearing £3Mil
Think Spearing would make a good addition, we nee someone who can take the pressure off the defence, break up play and give a pass and start off the next move.
Pfffft.

Re: Spearing £3Mil
This role worked for Makelele because he was dishing the ball five yards to Frank Lampard or Arjen Robben. Spearing might be able to break up play but if he's giving the ball to Pratley or Kevin Davies, he's just going to have to break up play again seconds later.TKIZ! wrote:Think Spearing would make a good addition, we nee someone who can take the pressure off the defence, break up play and give a pass and start off the next move.
I think we need a defensive midfielder with a bit more to his game, based on what I've heard about Spearing.
