Re: Vela
Not great, but could easily have been much worse for him. He doesn't seem to get much luck with injuries.

Surely though the team doctors should of noticed that his knee would of been fecked when they gave him treatment and not sent him back out there.

Depends on the nature. These things cannot often be picked up even on a scan a day later as the swelling holds things in place. Once the swelling goes down, you can tell on a scan. So I'm not sure an "on pitch" diagnosis would be all that easy.....

As soon as he started moving I said that it looked like Vela's knee was on sideways as he ran. Every time he tried to plant that leg, it buckled. Poor bugger kept going, though...BWFC_Insane wrote:Depends on the nature. These things cannot often be picked up even on a scan a day later as the swelling holds things in place. Oh of course.
But still, if you've knacked your knee, it's pretty unwise at any point to try and 'run it off'

Especially if the player has a higher pain threshold and gives it the 'let's see how it goes'

Bllx.
Poor kid & I did think he could come through & surprise a few people this year. Effectively half a season lost.
I blame the medical staff myself !!!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
