That reminds me. Before the Birmingham game saw a welcome re playing of 'My world is a football'. Hadn't heard that in yearsRiviman wrote:I remember the days at Burnden in the late 50's early 60s when they ran out to the advert "Never go without a Capstan" (cigarettes)!!!
If my memory serves me it went "Never, never go go go, never go without, never go without, a Capstan" !!!

Re: Phantom of the Reebok.
Not sure whether I do, or it was something my dad sang .... but yep. A German choir back in the 1950's/60's. That'll have been pretty controverstial then I'd guess. Something like the Valderkirschen Girls Choir if the memory is working ; -TANGODANCER wrote:What, you don't remember Valdareee?Riviman wrote:I remember the days at Burnden in the late 50's early 60s when they ran out to the advert "Never go without a Capstan" (cigarettes)!!!

The Happy Wanderer
I love to go a-wandering,
Along the mountain track,
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back.
Chorus:
Val-deri,Val-dera,
Val-deri,
Val-dera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Val-deri,Val-dera.
My knapsack on my back.
I love to wander by the stream
That dances in the sun,
So joyously it calls to me,
"Come! Join my happy song!"
Chorus
I wave my hat to all I meet,
And they wave back to me,
And blackbirds call so loud and sweet
From ev'ry green wood tree.
Chorus
High overhead, the skylarks wing,
They never rest at home
But just like me, they love to sing,
As o'er the world we roam.
Chorus
Oh, may I go a-wandering
Until the day I die!
Oh, may I always laugh and sing,
Beneath God's clear blue sky!
Chorus
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Was thinking about adding that to the list - I was at the Brum game, but don't recall hearing this (mind, I was a bit last minute before KO).Harry Genshaw wrote:That reminds me. Expect a surprise visit when you reach 61. It'll happen, never fear, and sooner than you think.as wrote:Was that before or after you lads nonced on children?Riviman wrote:I remember the days at Burnden in the late 50's early 60s when they ran out to the advert "Never go without a Capstan" (cigarettes)!!!

The over 60's should be castrated.......

The Iron Maiden one hasn't been used since Coyle went, has it?
Nowt will EVER beat this one as often mentioned when this sort of thread crops up. Awesome video as well (apart from the tit dancing about in front of the match footage!)

Sure that Colin McGreavy commented on Twitter shortly after Doogie's appointment that the Maiden track had gone. Suppose I'll have to keep an ear out for it tomorrow!Annoyed Grunt wrote:The Iron Maiden one has been getting sporadic use since he went.Leyther_Matt wrote:The Iron Maiden one hasn't been used since Coyle went, has it?

They might well have done, I chose the 'pint before kick off' option.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Sure it was played last Saturday........?Leyther_Matt wrote:Sure that Colin McGreavy commented on Twitter shortly after Doogie's appointment that the Maiden track had gone. It was actually insomnia by faithless, not god is a DJ by faithless.
Can hear it on the Sky highlights still playing

Always get them two mixed up.

They play an ear-splitting fecking racket is all I know. I neither know nor care what it is or who it's by but it has no place being aired in public.

Didn't we used to come out to Robert Miles's's' Children in our last couple of years at Burnden?
Now that was music.
Now that was music.
