Re: Wotsit out for a month
I wasn't knocking him as such, more making the point that he has a limited proven track record and another with no experience. Wishing our only other keeper with some experience injured would seem rather dim - directed at the eejitsEnoch wrote:In fairness, had he not suffered a serious injury he would almost certainly have been Preston's first choice for six years or more. With 240 odd starts, he's not exactly the perennial bench warmer that Rob Lainton appears to be.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Anyone happy that we only have one experienced keeper, that seems to have not been a no1 keeper at a club for any length of time,
Hopefully Bogdan's injury is as innocuous as has been suggested, even if he needs to sit on the bench for a while and give up goal kicking duties in the event he's called upon.

I'd be surprised if we got a loan keeper in. Should Lonergan get injured then we'd deal with it for that game and look at getting one from then I think.

What the 'frock said. Given there's an international break coming up and Lonergan's got two clean sheets so far, you'd essentially be seeking a goalkeeper to warm our bench for one game.Prufrock wrote:I'd be surprised if we got a loan keeper in. I thought we'd got four keepers in the squad. Bogdan, Lonergan, Lainton and Lynch?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:What the 'frock said. This is very true, of course two of them have never been on the pitch in a senior game and the question is whether either of them have developed to a point where they are considered ready to step into the fray.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I thought we'd got four keepers in the squad. It would be nice to think so, brave call though at the moment.

All they've got to do is fling themselves about.Enoch wrote:This is very true, of course two of them have never been on the pitch in a senior game and the question is whether either of them have developed to a point where they are considered ready to step into the fray.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I thought we'd got four keepers in the squad. We'll not let a case slip through our fingers.
Charged with a penalty, we'll save it.
Vigilant in defence.

Don"t the dingles sing a song that sounds abit like Oompa, Oompa ..... over and over again.Prufrock wrote:Needs a song to the tune of the Oompa Loompa song.

I think they might be trying to form words, but the local widely-shared cleft palate gene prevents it.bwfcdan94 wrote:Don"t the dingles sing a song that sounds abit like Oompa, Oompa ..... over and over again.Prufrock wrote:Needs a song to the tune of the Oompa Loompa song.

Re: Wotsit out for a month
See what you mean it is the last song on the video and I do not have a clue what they are on about. Also note the absolutely horrible chant about Jack Walker that is probably the worst chant I have ever heard at football. I mean songs about Munich, Hillsborough and Istanbul are bad but at least they are not so personal that they are aimed at one specific person.LeverEnd wrote:I think they might be trying to form words, but the local widely-shared cleft palate gene prevents it.bwfcdan94 wrote:Don"t the dingles sing a song that sounds abit like Oompa, Oompa ..... over and over again.Prufrock wrote:Needs a song to the tune of the Oompa Loompa song.

Did anyone mention that Wotsit was sitting on the bench Saturday?
Second choice, or not yet 100%?

I'd say two clean sheets in a row meant Lonergan got another gig. Next match will be interesting though.

I'd be tempted to leave him in for the Charlton game and take it from there..CarlosHernandez wrote:I'd say two clean sheets in a row meant Lonergan got another gig. Next match will be interesting though.
Re: Wotsit out for a month
any sign of these incoming loan troops who were going help us kick on and stagger over the line?
