Re: Tommy Banks
I had a real memorable moment there, was hilarious at the time. Brother and I were in the stalls with this big fat chap we knew and he was moaning about something, and in a bad mood. The flush method for the urinals back then was via a big porcelain tank on brackets and a chain handle. He jerked the chain so hard the whole thing gave way, came crashing down, smashed and flooded the place. Could have been quite serious if it had hit him, but luckily it missed, by not much. We didn't stop howling for a fair while at the sight of him absolutely drenched.Bruce Rioja wrote:I remember going to an 18th there and getting smacked in the mouth for cracking on to some knobhead's bint.TANGODANCER wrote: My local Conny Club was on Halliwell Road up past The Raglan, and a real decent night at one time.

This is a picture of the Wanderers in April 1958, training for the FA Cup final. Quick Quiz: What is wrong with this Eleven?

Re: Tommy Banks
Is it that it's got Ralph Gubbins in it, and he didn't play in the final?

I'll tell thi summat - I never knew that there'd been a telly box on the Manny Road roof prior to the one that was erected in the late 70's.

Half right. Ralph scored twice in the semi-final against Blackburn, substituting for Nat. He did not play in the final. For the other half - who is missing (or hidden behind the Chopper)?Bruce Rioja wrote:Is it that it's got Ralph Gubbins in it, and he didn't play in the final?
