Munich surely, when he finished after all of Nobby's hard work and of course the cup quarter final.Harry Genshaw wrote:His 1st(?) goal for us v Blackburn. Just as they were giving him some stick.
Then his unselfish play;
Aston Villa in the 1st leg of the league cup semi. David O'Leary complaining that his centre halves had been bullied out of the game as he got on the end of everything.
My first trip to Europe away v Plovdiv when he laid off the ball for Nolan to hit the winner. Cue delirium
Magic times, magic player. Thanks for everything SKD

Love this last line - almost brought a tear to my eye
Lads & lasses - I have a terrible memory for detail so really enjoyed reading this
One thing I wont forget is meeting SKD just before kick off at Bayern Munich - my lad was BWFC mascot that day
I was speechless shaking his hand like some starstruck teenager but he made the effort to stop and do it just like Kevin Nolan and for that I am very grateful.
As far as i know - a truly top bloke

When we signed him, a much-admired and now missed poster on these pages said somewhere else "Why do we need that burger boy?"
He quickly admitted his error....

Man was a king. Cup quarter final and that West Ham dislocated finger goal will always stand out for me. My abiding memory will be a hazy recollection of him smashing a faceless full-back, man ball the lot, dusting himself off and arching an eyebrow. The last link to the good old days will soon be gone.
I'm tempted to find an excuse to make a trip home for that Blackpool weekend.

The outrageous goal against Stoke on the last day of the Premier League, the efforts he made at the end of last season to try and keep us up was second to none.

The Munich goal
Birmingham QF.
His biannual rinsing of Upson.
Playing on at Charlton with a broken cheekbone, then getting himself sent off, presumably as he didn't want to show weakness by going off injured.
Laughing at Pogatetz as he went chicken at him for being handed off.
Megging Rio and bending it in the top corner past Van der Sar.
Seeing Reyes be scared of him that had the ball on the edge of our box, turned and legged it all the way back to his own half to give it the 'keeper.

Re: Your best SKD memories
It's easy to pick out specific moments but they've been mentioned before here.
For me it was the feeling when in the premiership, especially when we were struggling to stay up, that in the home games, we'd get a performance out of Davies.
He'd stand up, and almost be the entire focus and dominate the opposition's back four. There were games when you'd go and Davies would just completely run the opposition ragged and literally just dragged us out of the hole we were in.

Re: Your best SKD memories
Did anyone mention the FA Cup game against Arsenal in 2007? He got a foot injury in the first half that would have seen most other players leave the pitch. SKD had an injection in it at half time and carried on regardless.
Looks like his missus got him a couple of Subbuteo figures for his birthday:

And the Charlton player (Faye I think) effectively apologised for exaggerating SKD's challenge that got him sent off and said he was embarrassed that SKD had played on with the fracture and never made a fuss about the challenge. Not many left with guts like that, that's for sure.

Re: Your best SKD memories
I seem to remember Anelka watching the game from either the bench or the stand. I wondered at the time if any of it was for that reason, but then you realise it was just SKD being SKD.

Re: Your best SKD memories
My worst memory of SKD was when the family SKD were out for a walk across Dunscar Golf Course. They stopped to let me tee off on the 11th, which I promptly smacked onto the 14th
