Oh indeed, Bish. All going to show what an absolute disaster Saturday was.thebish wrote:truewhite15 wrote:The way I look at it, we were given a huge chance in the last round of fixtures. We've failed to take advantage.
We're being given yet another. We need to grab onto this one with both hands.
we're still MILES off!
we're 6pts off Brighton (same number of games) in the last playoff spot - effectively 7 with their massively better GD
we're 8pts off Forest albeit with a game in hand - even if we win that (no guarantee!) it's 5pts - effectively 6 with gd
we're still 5pts off leicester with a game in hand and MASSIVELY inferior gd
so - stop it now!!!
May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: ..so as no-one else has; next home game;
From here, we need to win all four home games, beat Leicester away, and one of Bristol City or Cardiff away. Given we've won three (I think) all season away from home, I'm not confident!

Seven games left, twenty one points on offer, seventy five points achievable.
I don't see what the problem is.

How long have you followed Bolton ?Enoch wrote:Seven games left, twenty one points on offer, seventy five points achievable.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

A propensity toward optimism is all it takes.
That and the drugs.

Things like Saturday will happen. But we shouldn't be where we are. If all these players properly applied themselves from game one to now we'd be a lot higher. Feck if we'd played like we have since Dawson came in for the whole season I reckon we'd be pushing Cardiff.
But we haven't. Frustrating. But then some of these have been underperforming with us for several seasons. The fact that many of them were allowed to continue to do so in the summer is what really has hurt us!

So after today's results the hope and pain continues for another day.

Re: ..so as no-one else has; next home game;
Let's not forget where we were four months back or so - could have been a relegation season. Just look at our fellow relegatees - Blackburn and Wolves.
I was at the Valley on Saturday, and left angry because we failed to capitalise on the slip-ups of our playoff rivals. That's better than I could have hoped for when we were 17th after 17. It ain't over til it's over, so let's just enjoy the fact we can theoretically go within three points of a playoff spot tomorrow and get behind the team v Huddersfield.

Just got my tickets now. Since when did we do Under 23 prices? Thought it was always U21 for home games?

They have added it for the forthcoming season tickets.wanderers_on_tour wrote:Just got my tickets now. Since when did we do Under 23 prices? Thought it was always U21 for home games?
Re: ..so as no-one else has; next home game;
True, they are not in form but that seems to mean nothing in this league, especially in the final third of the season.ChrisC wrote:Huddersfield will be no walkover tomorrow. They dropped into the bottom 3 today so will be fighting for their lives.
I went to theirs and we should have won easily, looked a class apart at times but only bagged a point. Then again Birghton have out played us for a game and half and only got a point off us. So basically who knows?

Re: ..so as no-one else has; next home game;
Not sure I would, we haven't put teams away convincingly apart from Hull (which I managed to miss!) and have ridden our luck bigtime in some of those wins, Brighton particularly. When you look at it we haven't been good enough even in a division with no outstanding teams and we don't deserve to go up. I can see whoever does win the playoffs getting botty-spanked next season. Maybe we'll go up in much better shape in a year's time.SmokinFrazier wrote:The issue for us is our away form. If every remaining game of the season was at home, I'd be confident of getting in the play off spots but our away form is terrible. We've got 5 points from our last 6 away games. If we did manage to improve away, there's a chance we could go up, but that sort of form is very poor.

Supremely confident??!
We'll win. Eagles will score.
Mears and Ricketts out so Butterfield is playing. Hadn't realised Mears was that ill. Freedman obviously doesn't fancy Riley then...(assuming he doesnt play and isnt injured?).

Riley not being injured is one big assumption Dibs.officer_dibble wrote:Supremely confident??!

Thanks for that -had missed it completely.
If Dougie doesn't want to throw Butterfield into the team maybe he'll think that now is the time to play three at the back

Wasn't that bloke that we loaned off of Norwich also called Butterfield? Are Butterfields the new Davies's? ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
