Looking at the remaining fixtures, assuming we can win our two home games the game that will decide our fate will be Leicester/Forest.

I don't see a problem, to be honest.

Twelve weeks ago we werer worried about another relegation. I still think we'll just miss out on the play offs, but given where we were, it's still a tremendous result and gives me hope for next season.

If we get into the mix, its just a fantastic bonus.

This for me.

For me we're remarkably similar to the side Allardyce picked up from Todd. Near the bottom of the league late run takes us right up the table into or near the play offs.

That side was like this one full of individual talent like Gudjohnsen, Fish, Jensen but probably lacked a regular goalscorer and more crucially something a bit intangible, but a bit of reslience through the side. As much as (Barry) Knight shafted us over we struggled consistently that season to defend at big moments against the better teams. We were 2-0 up at the Reebok for example in the play off semi final but ended up 2-2.

I see what we've got now as remarkably simialr. We've tightened up a bit at home, we are generally more resilient but probably not enough - last night being an example. At 1-0 we should be ensuring the worst that happens is 1-1 at full time. Let alone avoiding losing by HT. At 2-2 with 20 minutes to go against a side desperate to win we should be pulling down the shutters, closing the blinds and killing the game dead. The team that lost to Ipswich in the play offs probably would have lost 3-2 last night as well.

Over the summer I expect Dougie to somehow find that intangible resilience and resistance that makes us far more competitive even against good sides away from home. We won't be able to outplay everyone but we should make ourselves much tougher to beat. Whether he finds the next Ricketts or not, I'm less sure of......

I think (hope) there are still a few twists left. 2 massive home games. We have to win these and hope for other results, simple as.

7 points I think definitely sorts us out.

6 points I think will probably be enough

I think that's probably the case.

My worry is the injuries and also the nagging doubt that our run of home wins will come to an end at some point, probably when we least want it to!

Agree on 6 likely being enough

but without Dawson, N'gog, Spearing, M Davies, a fit Holden and with a knack of conceding goals away from home I can't say I'd be confident, but playoff games can go either way on things as simple as set pieces.

Excited about next season though.

Kind of what I think. I think even if we get in the play-offs we will be too stretched to win them.

I suppose on the plus side Holden played another hour yesterday, his first back to back games. So I'd be bringing him back now. Fit or not, he's a body and I don't think we can afford not to have him on the bench at this stage.

A win on the weekend against Boro will see us back into the playoffs.. Palace play Leicester... a palace win would see us take Leicester's place, Leicester win should see us take Palace's place and a draw would see us take Leicester's place... This is going down to the final whistle on May 4th against Blackpool and I'm worried that it's going to go down to goal difference.

That's what I keep saying. It's going to be horrible losing out on bloody goal difference.

But then Leicester also need to play Forest and Watford. IT'S ALL GETTING A BIT TOO TENSE.

It is interesting that we went up the season after, having lost the big names you mentioned which is a possibility for us this summer if we don't go up. Be interesting to see how the summer pans out which ever division we're in.

I don't think it's quite the same now in that I think there are few players we have that will be in real demand in the summer and few that I could say "we can't lose them".

NGog might go, and as good as he is, and he'll be a miss, he's never going to score regularly.

LCY I don't think has done enough to warrant a move. If someone comes in for him I'd not cry.

Holden will stay.

Eagles will stay.

After that get Andrews fit, Mark Davies back in from Christmas time, sign a striker and a centre back. Perhaps a full back or two.....

We'd have some squad. Hopefully Dougie can inject the resilience from the start.

Mind I'm not giving up on this season yet....

Even with those players out, we still (i believe) have a better XI and probably a better bench than the (definitely) 2 of the teams we've left to play and possibly even Cardiff..

Then I'd go as far as saying it'd be better, or at least as good as Palace, Watford, Hull, Leicester, Brighton, Forest.. 2 of who'm we'd potentially meet in the play-offs.

I think we can do it. And I think a few people are getting excuses in early by bemoaning injuries. Coyle got that mindset into us all and we ended up shrugging our shoulders and thinking "hard lines".

I think under Dougie, we shouldn't feel that at all.

My biggest concern is our lack of bottle. Captain Zat rallying the troops doesnt fo it for me.
