Where's the fun in that!

Don't see what was wrong with promoting the kit man.

How very telling .....

Manager Jim Bentley said he was disappointed to lose Danny but was also happy to see him move to the Reebok. "We are obviously very sorry to lose Danny because he has done an amazing job for us over the years. If you look at our records over the past couple of seasons you will see that we have had very few muscle injuries and that is testament to the work he has done. It is a dream move for him and he certainly goes with our best wishes and I am sure he will do a great job for Bolton.''
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Wonder if this has been instigated by Mark Leather? Surely can't be anyone else?

They may just have advertised it and appointed the best candidate?

Seems a shame at Dr Tobin was let go in what must be part of the same re-organisation. He was a GP so perhaps they're getting a more specialist sport doctor in? Who knows.
I've heard there was good reason for letting him go......only rumour though.

Perhaps Caps or Boltonboris or someone has heard similar?
Spit it out.
Read this story. Big hint in there.......then think Spearing too.......

Makes perfect sense to let him go then.. Despite a couple of papers making us look like heartless bastards..

I can think of so many players who have recurring injuries, or undetected injuries that have gotten worse... Looks like plain incompetence to me..

Like others have said it's a shame we let Tobin go but then at the same time if errors are being made then surely we want the best care for the players we can get?
Pfffft.

I'm not sure it's about individuals. The rumour I heard was that as a club we had a number of players who had been misdiagnosed or had minor injuries missed that got worse. Spearing being one and doubly embarrassing as he wasn't even our player.

As I say it's a rumour, but that article gives a strong hint that it may well be accurate!

GPs clearly don't have specialised knowledge of sports injuries. Depends what their background is, and their willingness to ask for second opinions. I know nothing about this Tobin guy, but it makes sense for the club to build up a network of part-time specialists to cover the whole injury spectrum. I stopped going to GPs about sports injuries a long time ago because they are largely not interested for all sorts of reasons, some valid some not. I do know though that the best treatment I've had is from multi-disciplinary clinics where people collaborate and complement each other's expertise under a strong overall leadership. I think that's what we are trying to do with Leather and it further strengthens my confidence that Freedman has his head screwed on right.
