I think a lot of people who constantly moan may have never been in the Great Lever end at Burnden park on a cold night in the 80's.

Re: Deadline Day
WTF were you doing in The Great Lever? It was bloody horrible in there.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

It was cheap, My dad dragged me with him
Great memories!
We'd sometimes go in the manny road stand but I was only 6-7 and it was all standing back then with those horrible railings dotted about and I couldn't see over the top of the burly blokes haha.

Re: Deadline Day
You're right, I was critical of Bolton during that spell but as I said repeatedly during the summer, that long run of good form will be hard to replicate this year because in so many of those games, we were the inferior team. We were incredibly fortunate to get the points total we did get from all those games because it was rare that we played better than the opposition. I wasn't just moaning for the sake of it back then, I saw deep routed problems within the way we were operating as a side and I was worried that we'd struggle this year if we didn't get the same amount of luck as we did last season. I think I was right to say that and, unfortunately, I think my fears have come true.ChrisC wrote:I get annoyed SF because you come across as an intelligent, decent guy but drone on about the same thing over and over and rarely find a positive in anything about BWFC. Then, just like now, you aren't arsed because we disagree, it bothers you because you know I'm right. If I followed your advice and stopped pointing out these flaws with our team, they aren't going to go away just because I stop mentioning them.ChrisC wrote:Fecking YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNN!SmokinFrazier wrote:A goalscorer won't make a difference for us anyway. Prime Inzaghi would probably get about 6 goals a season playing in our current side.
Same tripe repeated over and over. We heard you the first time so please stop saying the same thing over and over in different word combinations.
If I remember rightly, you even found negatives in our 5-1 demolition of Hull last season.
I love Bolton Wanderers and its hard to read constant negative things about the club I love from someone, especially when they never find an ounce of good in anything they write.
I can understand why someone would think differently from my posts on here but I'm definitely not a pessimistic Bolton fan. I just want to see us succeed, and I believe in the players and the club as a whole. I think we're fortunate to have the players we do have and that's where my frustration stems from, because I don't think they're being guided in the right direction, nor have they been in a long time. We have a losers mentality and when you listen to Freedman's comments about Reading, QPR and Forest, it's easy to see why our players lack confidence. I think we're capable of playing better and getting better results.

Re: Deadline Day
Joe, I think the issue is that your criticism is so dour and unremitting. I agree with some of it but you do need to lighten up now and again.
People are aware there are issues and, y'know, sometimes they don't want to read about it. Especially from someone who seems ... and I doubt it's the actual case ... to almost enjoy the situation. There are one or two who seem only to appear after a poor performance and then repeat the same ol, same ol'.
We all p each other off now and again, I've been told so in no uncertain terms before now, but just lighten up and change the tune now and again.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I am starting to wonder whether BWFCi and SmokinFrazier are actually the same poster with two spoof identities. This sounds EXACTLY like BWFCi's posts last season and the season before... the language, the endless repetition and persistence, the "you all know I am right" mantra... spooky! (at least it was spooky until I rumbled the elaborate hoax!)SmokinFrazier wrote:You get annoyed because you know I'm right. I don't think it comes across as enjoyment for him bobo and I think his posts are amongst the most considered and detailed on here. Certainly far more interesting to read than Johnny Tourretes and his incessant everything is the best ever! Oh no everything is the worst ever! shite.

Re: Deadline Day
This post is pointless, we are not going to sign anyone we are potless, listening to Gartside on Talksh1te was really worrying. We have no money because we are not getting the fans in so our base turnover is small and with no TV money we are skint. Therefore, we will be signing nobody and will have to manage with the players we have got, which equals a long hard season with nothing to show for it at the end!!

There are many things I do that are pointless, posting on here being one. The fact that you seem to have become a troll depresses me though. Trying to deliberately wind individuals up on the interweb is sa-aaa-aaaad.

Absolutely and I don't wish to imply that Joe does take joy from our troubles but there is an air of 'told you so' which ... admittedly ... he did. I'd just advocate a tad of positivity, if only on other subjects, so we get a rounded view of him and so judge the criticisms in context.Lord Kangana wrote:I don't think it comes across as enjoyment for him bobo and I think his posts are amongst the most considered and detailed on here. Re: Deadline Day
I'm probably a bit old fashioned, not to mention thick, but I don't think our squad is much better or worse than any other squad in the division. I don't think we're a big club with some god given right to play in the top flight and I don't think our manager is doing too much wrong with what he's got.
I guess the success or otherwise of our season will hang heavily upon what happens in the loan window, much as the second half of last season did.
To think that we might buy a Dawson, Rhodes, or any other quality turn is to ignore the reality of our situation. Might also be nice to go 90 minutes without someone else going on the panel.
Are we playing decent football just now? Certainly not.
Are we capable of playing decent football? We do at times so the answer must be yes.
Are we likely to turn in stellar performances any time soon? Who knows, not me for sure and I doubt anyone else on here.
Is it time for a cuppa? I do believe it is!!

That's not to say you're always wrong.
There are plenty on here who have played or coached to a good level. If you offered more opinion, and less 'fact', I reckon you'd do better.
