Maybe to show they had done West Ham and nicked them off them?

Yes, Dan.
It's a great story Dan. Get Bruce to tell you over a pint one day. You can still see the fear in his eyes.

One of my mates that was with me that day went on to be a Sergeant in The Parra's. He recently told me a tale of how, when out in Iraq, his unit found itself surrounded by insurgeants. He says, quite matter of factly "And that was it - I realised that that was the moment at which I was going to die, and the only time I've ever felt that before was when me and you got jumped at Millwall".

True story. And yes - that frightening.

I keep promising that I'll one day write it down for the site. To do the tale justice though I have to go into all the background and offer the scenario. This thread's served as a reminder that I still haven't done it yet.

Looks like Holloway is on his way there. Twitchy or confident for a Trotters win? 8)

ANOTHER new manager's first game ?!?!

As George Martin said "this has got to be some kind of record !"
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

I will look forward to hearing it when we do meet Bruce. My dad always says my generation has it easy going to football, my generation don't know what it like to go to football not knowing whether you were going to be coming back minus some clothes or plus a scar. Mind you it must have been a good buzz as well as being scary at times. Out of interest what year did the incident you refer to occur.

i think what is meant is that some gathered to meet with some who did the parkrun.. some ran (enfield) - others skipped the running and enjoyed Bruce's tales over breakfast!
