I rather doubt we'd get the guy who left a top-half Prem team because they wouldn't give him a blank cheque and no interference over spending it.

Presumably, judging by this on the statement:
Bolton Wanderers would like to thank Dougie and his team for all their hard work and effort during their time with the club.

Beeb saying JP in charge for Satdi.

Glad he's gone - do think he had a tougher job than anyone recent, from a financial standpoint, but clearly whatever he was telling the footballers we have got, wasn't sticking, they couldn't hit a 5 yard pass to a white shirt.

I would like to see us go after Malky McKay. He needs a route back into football. I think we can offer it him. My second choice would be a punt on Jackie McNamara who is doing really well at Dundee United and bringing through youngsters there.

I doubt we will see a foreigner and I don't want one.

Glad he's gone. JP in temporary charge according to the Beeb.

I do think in a non-footballing sense, he's carried the brunt of what both Megson and Coyle said they were doing (reducing the expenditure) - they largely did nothing like. So in that sense I I have some sympathy for him.

Footballing though - showed very little even at a "basics" level.

The news that Bournemouth wouldn't have wanted.
This, pretty much.

This made me chuckle..

Julian Thorpe: We've just heard that Dougie's demise was announced over the tannoy in Asda, and was greeted by cheers from customers.

Malarkey McKay for me, he'd sort out the football side of things.

Hey, it's a happy day... There may be a baby boom in nine months... not that you and the General would contribute to that, but you may celebrate how you see fit... :D

He wants to know whether you will respect him afterwards.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Three of our last four managers have left their post in October. Last one before that was Sir Jimmy Armfield...

Oh and six of our last 12 managers have been Scottish (if you include Bruce and Owen). T'other six English. Just thought you might like to know.

It does beg the question around what Garty thought might change after the international break. I can't see, for the life of me the logic of not giving ourselves a two week window with no games to try and get something at least in progress.

Iles said earlier that the club was looking to make a change after tomorrow game but had a change of heart. Probably because of the planned protests.
