Re: happy faces
It's my local, they've not really changed it apart from some wanderers stuff on the wall. Still have the live music at weekends. McGinlay's eldest son seems to be in charge, looks like him and also called John.Jugs wrote:Is that really Gavin McCann?
Also, has anyone else been here yet?

Re: happy faces
Does it regularly attract Bolton fans before games? I'm thinking of popping in on a regular basis before home games. It's a long haul from where I live like (farnworth).

Which one are people saying is Gavin McCann?

Well, this was Greenie in his Wigan days, 2003 ....

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I remember when Rodney Jack ran rings around him against Crewe at the Reebok. He looked old and on his way out back then. Surprised he doesn't look much older now.

Re: happy faces
There were a few in on Saturday. I was in there around 12.30pm with LE. They put on a free minibus to the ground, which does a couple of runs. SJM won't be there as he does his show on Tower at 1pm iirc. Not sure i'd make the trek from Farnworth tbh.Jugs wrote:Does it regularly attract Bolton fans before games? No idea why, but reading that and Juilan Dicks name just popped into my head.Jugs wrote:I remember when Rodney Jack ran rings around him against Crewe at the Reebok. He looked old and on his way out back then. Surprised he doesn't look much older now.

Me and my mate usually walk up chorley road from Bolton t/centre, stopping off at the lion of vienna, and having a beer during the walk. So walking a bit further into Horwich isn't a problem. Gonna check out The Alehouse too.

Re: happy faces
Aye, we get the bus home. But grabbing the bus there is pretty boring, and walking to the game makes a day of it, gets you in the mood much more than a turgid bus through little hulton with certain disagreeable cretins. Kinda feels like an away game when you walk it. Plus you can drink beer too

Re: happy faces
That's Dan-like extremes of walking.bobo the clown wrote:Jugs wrote:Me and my mate usually walk up chorley road from Bolton t/centre, stopping off at the lion of vienna, and having a beer during the walk. So walking a bit further into Horwich isn't a problem. Gonna check out The Alehouse too.![]()
That's an extra 2 miles each way. There are buses you know.

Anyway, do we have a definitive line-up yet?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: happy faces
Doesn't seem so yet. Various hints, like Lonergan set to keep his place and Lennony bigging up Germaine Beckford, but he's doing that with Craig Davies and Joe Mason too.Lord Kangana wrote:Anyway, do we have a definitive line-up yet?
