c'mon! it's more exciting than all the rest of our games PLUS the not-yet-opened new transfer thread PLUS hoboh's latest ploitical burst blood vessel!LeverEnd wrote:It is. He clarified this in a later tweet, whilst also saying he was sceptical of the whole thing for reasons he would later reveal. Exciting? Not really!Armchair Wanderer wrote:It could be talks with two different groups of investors!?

Who is going to be brave enough to start this, after the flak that BB received on the last one?thebish wrote:c'mon! it's more exciting than all the rest of our games PLUS the not-yet-opened new transfer thread PLUS hoboh's latest ploitical burst blood vessel!LeverEnd wrote:It is. Wasn't in the 'best interest of the club and it's fans' (paraphrasing) apparently.Bruce Rioja wrote:Weren't Garty and Edward talking to some Koreans or suchlike at one point? Whatever happened to that?
Think it's fair to say Mr Davies is actively out and about (well his legal bods are) looking for someone to sell the club to
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"
Re: Financial Results
Talking of player wages etc does anyone know what the highest wage we've ever paid a player? I'm thinking Anelka or Okocha but I have no idea really.

Re: Financial Results
Sean Davies must go down as one of the most costly.
Re: Financial Results
Elmander must've been on a decent wage...LeverEnd wrote:Talking of player wages etc does anyone know what the highest wage we've ever paid a player? I'm thinking Anelka or Okocha but I have no idea really.
Re: Financial Results
I doubt that SKD was all that poorly reimbursed for his services...
Re: Financial Results
Well a quick google found Elmander's wage in 2012 (so at Galatasaray) to be £1.8m for the year, which works out at around £34000 per week... I can imagine that he was probably on similar terms here in England if not slightly less, but it's definitely a clue. I'd have guessed he was one of our top earners at the time... bought in for a club record fee as a 'big signing', wages to match.

Re: Financial Results
No, but if we look in terms of value rather cost then our costliest player EVER was this shitcunt.LeverEnd wrote:Talking of player wages etc does anyone know what the highest wage we've ever paid a player? I'm thinking Anelka or Okocha but I have no idea really.

That shitcunt wasn't so bad.
£35,000/week for Petrov was a travesty.

Re: Financial Results
The highest salary HAS, shirley, to have been Anelka's on his contract extension.
The highest per minute on the pitch, as said, Sean Davis has to be up there.

Aye, must be Anelka. £60kpw was the figure I remember being bandied about, though I have no idea with how much authority.
Quinton must be up there too, though still not close to Davis. 3 games according to Wiki. In 3 years. On free transfer wages. Christ.
