I don't think it would need reading 5 times if Lennon was off.
Must to do with some convoluted investment stuff. I'll not be reading it more than once anyway. I just want some football to watch instead of all this cricket tennis shite!

that should actually be ...Lennon would be in Austria...jaffka wrote:Don't think that Lennon would be in Lennon if he was going to be off that quickly. He would have had a cold or something in order to fly out later.
feck knows what happened there then

Re: Worried!!
I think that there would still be a few. I wouldn't be one, at present they are more attractive proposition. Not that I want him to go though nor do I suspect you do either.malcd1 wrote:I don't think many Bolton fans would blame him for going to Leicester if they came knocking. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Worried!!
Might just be that those left behind drew 2-2 with Spennymoor tonight. That or the news that Vela has the shits and is currently out of training.
Re: Worried!!
Bonnar just admitted it's to do with future ownership. Won't be drawn on whether it's good or bad news, probably a bit of both. We will be receiving a huge injection of cash from... Kim Jong il.

6am apparently the story will come on line.
Although there could be a Bolton fan who works at the printing works ready to leak the story...

In summary, nothing much we didn't already know...
You can read the rest at the link as my copy paste is going mad copying the whole page...Eddie Davies could soon step down as owner of Bolton Wanderers
EDDIE Davies could soon step down as owner of Bolton Wanderers Football Club to make way for another interested party.
A copy of the annual financial report for 2014/15 obtained by The Bolton News confirms that talks are taking place between the Isle of Man-based businessman and his legal representatives which, if successful, will bring about a change in ownership.
It also details that the club are in “advanced discussions” about a number of additional funding options, which could mean fresh investment in Neil Lennon’s playing squad.
The report also reveals that two weeks ago, Wanderers agreed to the sale of a section of the “stadium estate” believed to be an area of car park at the Macron.
This area has been purchased by a firm called Prescot Business Parks for £5.5 million and leased back to the club.
The Whites said that this sale was part of “medium term strategy to bring forward development as outlined in the Property Masterplan."
In summary, nothing much we didn't already know...

Seems like a restructuring of Eddie's ownership in order to make selling the club easier. Hopefully it doesn't mean the club is stripped of any key assets, we don't want to end up like Leeds or other clubs that effectively own nothing but themselves.
The mention of advanced discussions on 'additional funding options' is the key part, because that is a vry broad term that could mean anything from new external investment in the club via new majority or part owners, or just some clever restructuring that involves the club's assets and ownership of those.

Re: Worried!!
I think this is bad bad news. Phrases such as.... won't recall debt for at least 12 months. 'Hoping' to secure new investement. They are basically saying that in 12 months we won't be able to meet repayment demands. Selling off land! Normid comes to mind. Futures season ticket revenue? That is about short term survival not long term hope. We are in big big trouble. Why on earth would Eddie write off 170m? Why would anyone buy into a club that is losing money like we are? How can such a high wage bill result in such an awful team?
This season was already worrying me as I think we could go down. I now fear it might be our last season in our current guise.

They've been saying this for years
Selling off land! Normid comes to mind.
It's a bit of a car park. I'm not concerned.
Futures season ticket revenue?
They're stating different ways they could generate revenue. Not that they are seriously considering it, which I hope they're not.
That is about short term survival not long term hope.
Along with nearly all football clubs in the UK that don't have pots of cash, it's always been about survival and short termism.
We are in big big trouble. Why on earth would Eddie write off 170m? Why would anyone buy into a club that is losing money like we are?
Eddie knows he isn't going to see most of that money again. It's all about recouping what he can and not spending any more than is necessary. Someone will buy into the club if they're not also buying the debt. Hence restructuring.
How can such a high wage bill result in such an awful team?
Sammy Lee, Gary Megson, Owen Coyle and Dougie Freedman and lots of poor decision making. Bear in mind that the figures are for the last financial period, so don't reflect some of the overpaid waster that have recently departed.
This season was already worrying me as I think we could go down. I now fear it might be our last season in our current guise.
You're a glass half empty kinda guy aren't you? Just chill. I admit our situation is not great, but Eddie isn't going to liquidate the club as it doesn't make sense for him to do so. It's nearly the weekend Smile![]()

Re: Worried!!
sounds like something is imminent.
Point is we have no idea whether its a good or a bad thing. We are about to step out from having a local guy, an actual supporter, who has propped us up big style (definite statue or stand naming effort for me). They've said previously they are trying to get new people on board with the clubs interest at heart - only time will tell if they succeed.
Still don't follow the whole will it mean investment because of FFP restrictions - weren't Leeds one of the clubs sanctioned, yet seem to be throwing big fees around ???

Leeds came out of FFP so are free to spunk big money on stuff to get themselves back under it.StaffsTrotter wrote:sounds like something is imminent.
