Forest are unbeaten in 10. Wonder if we can manage unbeaten in 3?

I think those TV maps and google/wikipedia might need to get together to slug it out!Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Derbys, a bit of Staffs, Notts, top half of Leics, Lincs, Humberside, and South Yorks... them's where east mid weather, news etc take place on tv maps. With the positive news of players desperate to stay and fight for their places (and some good performances, maybe) this game feels like it could be a turning point... again.

NL's presser, quotes via Twitter.
Zach Clough has had a hip scan and he's out for a week or two. It's a niggle that hasn't gone away and although we had him on the bench on Tuesday, he's still feeling it a bit. Zach is a quality player and he's happy here, so we're pleased that he's still at the club.
Mark Davies is back in contention though and he trained yesterday. We'll speak to Mark today where I'm sure we'll get a clearer picture from him about the recent situation. With Medo, the decision was taken to terminate his contract and it was one which suited all parties.
It's a very busy period for us at the moment. We need to match the intensity of the performance v @swfc in tomorrow's game. It's a difficult time for everybody involved with the club, but all we can do is keep morale as high as possible by winning games. We've just got to concentrate on replicating our efforts v @swfc who are a quality side. @Official_NFFC will be another test.
I thought Liam Trotter did very well in midweek on his return to the team and Gary Madine was fantastic against @swfc. We'll no doubt be picking Liam Trotter's brains a little given his recent loan spell at @Official_NFFC.
I hate losing. I was really disappointed that we lost the other night, but the gap above us isn't impossible to close down.

Re: Through the Forest have I gone..Nottingham Forest away.
Plenty to read on the BN today.
A bit more on the Mark Davies non-transfer, including this quote from his agent: ““Sheffield Wednesday have said medical reasons but the player has not had a medical with them and they have not had any of his medical records.”
A Liam Trotter interview: “I want to do well for this club. I am very thankful to be here. I just want to do my best and play a part in helping the club stay up… it is a great club and I want to be here.”
A piece with Lennon reflecting on his team (“I get enthused by a performance like that [at Hillsborough] – it’s night and day from the Huddersfield performance. If we can keep the core of the squad together and play like that then there’s no reason why we can’t get out of this yet”) and The Goal Machine (“He looked like a top, top player at Sheffield Wednesday. Now I have told him he can’t do that one in five, he has to do it three or four in five. If he plays like that, he makes us better.”)
And a word from Freedman: “Myself and Phil Gartside made the decision that we had to slash the wage bill.”

Re: Through the Forest have I gone..Nottingham Forest away.
I hope trotter has a blinder tomorrow. We might end up relying on him. He looked decent on Tuesday, best I've seen him play (Iknow, I know).
I think Lennon is overly gushing about Madine. Yes he worked very hard and some of his play with his back to the goal was excellent, but he missed 2 great chances in the second half and we lost. Falling over the ball and making it accidentally go in the goal is not enough to make up for that. He gets a chance, I barely bother getting out of my seat.

Re: Through the Forest have I gone..Nottingham Forest away.
Easy (and fun) to mock, but Lennon has a point. As Prufrock said the other night, six points is a surprisingly small gap considering it feels like we've been hammered every week. We've not - as I keep saying, we far more frequently get beaten narrowly than convincingly - and as Lennon points out in the piece, the teams around us are having their own problems. Charlton have just switched manager again; Bristol City sacked Cotterill so suddenly that it was on the day he'd had a press conference looking forward to Saturday's game; McDons lost 5-0 at home in midweek and haven't won away since the opening day; Rotherham have lost three of their last four and have lost as many away games as we have.
It ain't over yet. Although I'll acknowledge it will take a turnaround, I've seen bigger changes than this. It would help if we got a measure of financial stability, like...

That's clearly the priority, but also think we need a dirty hard-bitten manager who knows how to get results once (if) that's achieved.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Easy (and fun) to mock, but Lennon has a point. We're genuinely not as bad as the league table says we are. Not that it'll matter come 5pm Monday anyway like.

Clough missing is a big loss. I can't see us winning away anyway but without our only decent finisher there's no chance. 2-0 Forest

Six points is a gap that could be closed! But who really believes that Lennon can get these players on any kind of run to achieve that.As we are all led to believe (we,re not playing that badly). But as in most games,if we score 3,then the opponents will generally score.Rotherham aside,no one has battered us.Its either a narrow loss.ie 1-0,or we score plenty, but they score 1 more. When we attack,we always seem to be left wide open to a counter.I will be on Bolton Town Hall steps(bare cheeked)at the end of this season if we close that gap and survive!

I don't think the town hall steps are big enough to accommodate all the people who'll be doing the same, Jonny.jonnycooper wrote:Six points is a gap that could be closed! I know that it wasn't necessarily reflected in the scoreline but I'd say that Huddersfield battered us too, to a worrying level.
