My daughter has a birthday party today, so it'll be touch and go whether I even get to watch on iplayer. Might be a sneaky radio job for this one.

I'm normally Panglossian but there's something about Warne that worries me. Then again, Evatt's results against him are improving - from the home 0-2 when Rotherham made us look naive, through the harder-fought 1-2 at theirs on New Year's Day when we were somewhat unlucky (despite that famous Johnston-Thomason-Delfounesou midfield), to the 0-0 with Derby when we merely lacked a cutting edge. Can the manager continue that progress? We'll see - well I won't, I'm not only working but shift-leading. Feels like a big day.

Folk visiting as my wife's still in dock so I'm hoping I can follow the action. We seem to do better when given less chance of winning, so let's hope that's the case today. I'm always there is spirit, so "COME ON YOU WHITES..!"...

Any thoughts on the XI? I think most would be tempted to go for the path of fewest changes - so Johnston-Aimson-Toal, the 4-y midfield (Randy-Morley-Dempsey-Bradley), Lee, with Dion & Dan up top.
That's probably what I'd do, but I just have a sneaky wonder whether Evatt will unleash Shoretire at 10 as a relatively unknown quantity. Could be the thing that tips the balance (either way, I know). The safely sensible approach is to start with Lee and give the kid the last 30, but I don't much fancy our chances if we go behind; maybe Lee shoring up for the last 30 to help protect a 1-0 is a better option?
I dunno. Nervous though.

Nlundulu to run them to bits and Shoretire off the bench to torture them.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 1:35 pmAny thoughts on the XI? 3-0 Bolton is clearly as inevitable as the rising of the sun.
Have we made all the right sacrifices to Huitzilopochtli?

I started to type out something very similar but got distracted. Think Lee will start, but IE loves a rogue "throw them in". I wouldn't be shocked. Or if he started up top instead of Dan.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 1:35 pmAny thoughts on the XI? Yup. Kachunga will replace one of the front two at some point as will MJ one of the two CM's. I reckon Shola will replace Lee for the last 30 mins.

Best possible side. Also notable that we're a goal scorer away from a very, very strong League One bench.

Wife has very kindly soloed the birthday party so I can watch the whites.
Do we have a couch today, Blu, or am I breaking out the VPN?

Who said I'd drop Kacha off the bench?

Ohhh the bench, gotcha. Though it was the nearest bridge you'd drop him off

My chant of "2 goals, 2 goals, Elias Kachunga" hasn't caught on yet, but I live in hope.

Might get better than 100/1 and 1-2 Bolton, Kacha × 2, now he's not starting. I'm gonna be rich.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 2:24 pmHeaven forbid...sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 2:18 pmOhhh the bench, gotcha. Though it was the nearest bridge you'd drop him off![]()

This is a big test. I wouldn't be surprised if today's opponents end up going up automatically.
I'm always hopeful, though.

Oh, hang on. When I made that 3-0 prediction I forgot they also get to put a team out. They're quite good too...
