I mean sure. But it’s a league so what we do in September directly impacts the end result in May. It’s not a cup competition where you can lose a game and still progress and ultimately win it.“I know where we are going and I know what a huge amount of hard work is going in to get us there.
“There won’t be any prizes dished out in September, only in May, so there shouldn’t be any over-reactions to negative results.
We know the sort of points totals we need for that top two and the levels of consistency required. There is no point saying ‘you don’t get any prizes in September’ to achieve what we need to, you can’t afford any poor months. A defeat then has to be followed up with a strong winning run. Defeats need to be blips, not precursors to a poor run.
That’s the level we need. It’s no use saying ‘Ah it’s only September’.

A win and three points please; any which way you like. No arrogance or half-measures. Just score and win. The why's and werefore's will be soon enough forgotten. COME ON YOU WHITES.....

I always fancy Peterborough games to warrant a few goals. Not necessarily in our favour but hardly a 0-0 spectacle to be had. I'm expecting today to be no different.
I'm expecting us to struggle today. I wouldn't be surprised if we lost it and had to use the midweek game to get our season back underway.
The tone around the club doesn't seem a rallying cry for getting back on track, nor does it seem like everything is good from an injury point of view. Maybe that's a lack of video being put out by the club on YouTube and released internally via club subscription having an effect.
Either way. I'm a little tired of the obvious game management that hasn't been working. Mix it up please Evatt. Last thing I want to see is another set of subs coming on that'll negatively impact our game.

Don’t know if true but heard Santos is out and Jones a doubt. Maybe just one of those made up rumours. But if true….will make for an interesting selection.

Given the extent of our injuries, not sure who he can put on the bench that's going to make anyone go "wow! That's going to change it"....we're struggling on XI, especially if Insano has read the tea leaves correctly

Confident of a win today. Backs feel slightly against the wall so I expect them to come out fighting. Forrester and Morley to start and shine.
2-0 win

That Toal red card an absolute kicker if those rumours are true. He's the only one you'd really back to cover for Rico (over a period of time anyway).
I'm still hopeful. Plenty with points to prove. Dion is of course the big one. Assuming he's borderline that's a big gamble anyway. I know what I'd be doing first chance I got it I was their centre half!
Can't risk him unless confident he can hold up. But then....*shudders*
Big opportunities, it's my best spin

I do wonder if Thomason has played a few games in training as a covering CB given the number of injuries we're starting to accrue, in the same lines of MJ last season.
If Rico is injured, and I very much doubt that. It'd be Johnston, Santos and Toal unavailable, so we'd be left with Jones, Forrester and Iredale as CB's with no clear cover.
Today's referee is well versed in sending our players off, Kioso and Santos (x2). So lets not give him fuel to that fire.

Hopefully he's another who holds a grudge given Kioso is their captain!

In as much as we have no divine right to win, neither have Posh, and we are the home side. No doubt they are counting our injuries as bonuses, but football doesn't always play by expectations. Get in and score, that's all that matters, the rest is Monday's recycling fodder.

Jones has been awful this season, so would be fine with Forrester stepping in for him anyway. If Santos is out we’re fecked.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 10:04 amDon’t know if true but heard Santos is out and Jones a doubt. Maybe just one of those made up rumours. Nice one. Certainly one way to cement him becoming a permanent signing.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 12:35 pmhttps://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... h-skipper/
I wish we'd've managed to keep hold of him, decent player.
