Again, the first call of the angry fan is perceived lack of effort from the players. For me, that’s laziness from the viewers rather than the participants.
We didn’t lose today because Exeter tried harder, we didn’t lose last weekend because Charlton tried harder, and we didn’t lose the playoff final because Oxford tried harder.

Little fluffy kitty? Stroke it under the chin saying shit like "coochy koo?"GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:01 pmGenuinely no idea if that's a good or a bad thing.
Loads of vagina (presumably good) or lots of wusses?
Is it currently "pussy central", or is it pussy central if we make the right runs?

Centrally though, not on the wings.

According to Evatt we were ‘physically and mentally fatigued’ in August. 4 games in.

He’s a busted flush. Instead of being self critical and coming up with ways to counter how his tactics are countered he comes up with any excuse to deflect blame.
I think if FV stick with him till say Christmas we might need a Warnock appointment to save us from relegation. He’s been found out and the players know it.

Re: The ianevattable sacking
We can over analyse all we like, but it simply comes down to not good enough. Not one person is defending it. For me it comes down to it going wrong from January. He's been backed heavily to make some changes, and its not working. Question now is what is Evatt going to do about it? I'd be telling him to sort it out now and if the improvement and wins don't come immediately then he goes.

Re: The ianevattable sacking
I'm still struggling with the tired & fatigued after 4 games comment.
He's been given everything he needs from the board, 8 new signings, a summer training camp in Portugal (after the players had a couple of months off), an additional assistant manager.
"We have to work harder to do better" what sort of a comment is that ?, work harder on his Plan A 2.0 which isn't working ? work harder with players he says are already tired & fatigued ? how about try something different - however he can't can he ? because he's put all his cards in his shite 'slow as feck' possession for possessions sake wingback system.
It's all down to him Evatt, it's his shite tactics, his 'tip tap about at snails pace' instructions, his style of play, his players, his signings, his inability to change tactics mid game (yet other managers do) - he has to take responsibility, surely FV and the investors need to be asking questions and seriously questioning his management (style, experience, manner, accountability etc.)

That's quite stunning. I mean, it really is difficult to blame anything other than the mangerial team if players en masse aren't aware the season's started so they need to be fit and raring to go...wtf are they mentally fatigued at?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 7:17 amAccording to Evatt we were ‘physically and mentally fatigued’ in August. 4 games in.

It’s almost like a challenge to the board to sack him! Look at how badly my team have been prepared Sharon! That’s me that is!
Seriously, pot him now and spare us any more.

Agree with a chunk of this mate. Equally as stunned at tired and mentally fatigued. It wasn't even on my list of shit excuses....Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:17 amI'm still struggling with the tired & fatigued after 4 games comment.

Another issue with Evatt is that he is so protected - from a distance it looks like FV / SB give him an easy ride and don't question him, he surrounds himself with his friends (coaching staff) so they won't question him. Any players that question him appear to be moved out.
It's almost like he can do whatever he likes without any accountability for his actions & decisions.

Re: The ianevattable sacking
The crowd were on the backs of Baxter and Santos for large parts of the game yesterday for how slow they were playing. This has been coming a long while. The crowd round me have been biting their tongues watching Baxter hold onto the ball for ages to allow the opposition to get everyone behind the ball and then Santos receive the ball before casually advancing 5 yards, pass it sideways then usually receive it back, take an age and then lose it.
Why can’t we break on teams? When an attack breaks down and Baxter has the ball we always decide it’s best to let the opposition regroup and waste a good 30 seconds doing nothing.
When people say we lack intensity this is what is meant.
It’s horrible to watch. It’s the most negative style of football and when 2-0 down at home is absolutely going to provoke anger in the stands as it did yesterday.
It was noticeable to see Forino aghast as Baxter refused to throw it to Cogley in space and instead decided to take his time before giving it to Santos to again take his time.
Exciting football has to be played at full throttle. It has to be intense and in the oppositions face. We play like we are Man City yet we have no gear changers so we are stuck in 2nd all the time.

Re: The ianevattable sacking
I don't think that anyone can argue with this if they watch the games, This is Evatt's football, there is very little excitement for supporters, its all about him and his pound shop pep mentality. Every game is the same, 1st 10 mins there is some intensity then we back off and play walking football until HT, then we come out 2nd half and are casual as feck for 10-15 mins - then last 25 they get a bit desperate and try to play better, but can't as the slow pissing about at the back style gives the opposition an age to get everyone back and we have no width, no pace, players can't cross a ball, players can't deliver any decent set pieces - rinse & repeat.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:35 amThe crowd were on the backs of Baxter and Santos for large parts of the game yesterday for how slow they were playing. I can't read the article - what has Evatt said, what excuses, who's he blaming - because it certainly won't be him.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 10:06 amThe fact that Marc Iles has put ‘context’ in quotation marks speaks volumes…

If he's saying that the players are not fit, new players not up to speed then its down to him, the buck stops with him he's the manager - why is BWFC different to other clubs ? He really is Billy Bullshit.

You didn't have to play players at Shrewsbury Evatt. You could have rested them and played a couple of the kids.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 10:06 amThe fact that Marc Iles has put ‘context’ in quotation marks speaks volumes…

Re: The ianevattable sacking
This is most of it, Bertie. BN, Wanderers.
Much was made of the potential for a ‘hangover’ after Wanderers’ play-off final defeat to Oxford United back in May and despite some bright spots in the Carabao Cup, performances have not yet hit the expected heights in the league.
Things were better at Shrewsbury in midweek as a third round game at Arsenal was secured but Evatt, whose side travel to Barrow on Tuesday night in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, says it has been difficult to select a fully fit squad.
“It is easy to get into a negative mood with how we ended last season and how we started this one,” Evatt said. “It is not where we want to be but we’re five or six points off that, which we could do in two games, which at the moment is OK. We can’t keep doing that, though, you need to change it and start building some results.
“It’s disappointing that we couldn’t build on what we’d done on Tuesday but these players can’t go again. We can’t keep picking the same players that haven’t played a great deal of football, especially when Tuesday comes around the corner and people will say to me that we should change the team and just play the kids, we can’t, there are rules for the competition.
“Some players have to play on Tuesday because I have no choice. If I had played them today then they would have played three times in a week when they hadn’t played a great deal of football and we’d end up breaking them or losing them. Let’s just swallow the pain.
“There is no excuse, the team we picked was good enough to win that game but we didn’t.”
Evatt made a triple substitution after going 2-0 down and admitted he had considered making the changes at half time.
He added: “I decided to give the players 10 minutes after half time and the first thing we did was lose two duels, give away a corner and concede. There was a mountain to climb after that.
“They had one shot on target other than the two set plays, the goals, and we have had three out of 19, which for our level of forward players is not good enough.”
