Can only see a link to Schumacher on his Twitter.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 2:30 pmApparently Nixon has linked us to Steve Evans.
If you'll excuse me I'm off to stand guard over Snake Pass with a harpoon.

There was a random suggestion that some on the board were pushing for Evan’s earlier today. So that would be interesting if Nixon is also throwing his name out there.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 2:52 pmIt'll be within the story as he covers his bases. "Aye"

Well, like Bruce, he's Scottish.

Christ alive no. Ditto Wazza.
Bookies list at this point are always filled out with people with existing links, and Evans was a youth player for us wasn't he? Imagine that's where that has come from.
Markham will need some new software if not. Schumacher the obvious candidate. Would be very fine with that even if he's not puritanically anti back 5 as I'd prefer.
Otherwise it's stick with the plan but with a tactical brain and more tempo and aggression, for me.

More I see the names more I’m thinking we should go all out for GoN. Sharon knows him. Was thinking of appointing him before Ken delayed the deal.Prufrock wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:09 pmChrist alive no. Ditto Wazza.

Good age. Good bloke. Already managed in the top flight. Might not want the job but that’s just a minor issue.
Re: Who's the Rioch to Evatt's Neal?
I would suspect his wage demands would be considerably higher than what we can offer

Managerial wages are a fraction of player wages, although you may be right.
Bigger problem is that after impressing at Bournemouth and (for a time) at Wolves, GON will hope for a top-flight job and settle for a second-flight one - the Scott Parker de nos jours. I would be literally astonished if he considered dropping down two divisions.

I saw Klopp in the whites hotel today, but he claimed to just be filming a new Trivago advert. One to keep an eye on.

We’ve got big Stevie Evans. He knows exactly what we need. Big uns at the back, big uns in attack, Bolton’s going up the football league.
Scans well. Works on a few levels. Yeah.
Also I bet he’s passed turds that are bigger than some of our players.

I'd be asking the question even if likely to be no (GON, Klopp is probably a touch ambitious). Maybe if we changed our name to Red Bull Bolton Wanderers he could continue his sell out.

Oh but it's genuinely what he wanted to do! He keeps saying so! While blinking rapidly!

Given how much weight Ian put on due to the stress of managing us I'd be interested to see what happened to Steve Evans.
I feel like he'd collapse in on himself and form some kind of footballing black hole.
So not unlike his time thus far at Rotherham.

Nixon is linking us to Schumacher, Evans and Robinson. Seems a lot of ‘guesswork’ to me.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:45 pmGiven how much weight Ian put on due to the stress of managing us I'd be interested to see what happened to Steve Evans.

Oh, I wouldn't trust Al's rumours as far as I could throw Steve Evans.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:49 pmNixon is linking us to Schumacher, Evans and Robinson. Seems a lot of ‘guesswork’ to me.

If you're up the Snake Pass, I'd suggest the alternative of rolling him into the gulch.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:51 pmI wouldn't trust Al's rumours as far as I could throw Steve Evans.
